It will be segregated. My daughter is excited. She’s tried both Girl Scouts and American Heritage Girls and both could not be any more boring or unfulfilling. My son joined cub scouts and within 2 weeks he was camping and carving soap with a real knife. My poor daughter has wasted 5 years making crap out of recycled goods and doing service projects (nothing wrong with that but she goes to Catholic School and gets plenty of that stuff there) and NEVER went camping. Only a one day rendezvous with the Trail Life Boys where she got to see their WAY more fun and interesting activities and skill sets.
I don’t think the BS org is out to get boys, or socially reengineer society. I think they just see a need that is being unfulfilled. Half the boys in my son’s pack have sisters who hang out at the meetings and take part in the activities because they are just so cool. But who else is going to teach them those outdoor skills? All of the mothers with any kind of motivation in our community use their energy and ambition to either work full time or homeschool large families. The moms left to head up scouting are just not up for the adventure, they want to do mild, indoorsy things. It’s an intractable problem and I’m glad the Boy Scouts are setting up a girls’ division where they can have those classic scouting experiences.

All they really need is a new name to differentiate them but keep the activities the same and so many girls will be so so happy without even affecting the boys. Girl Scouts has been lame and with a really dull, quasi-sjw focus for a long time now and needs to be replaced so hopefully this will be it.

Boys will leave in droves. When women move into an all-male group the male group dynamic is perminatly destroyed.
My son does not want his sisters coming to scouts with him. It is his time away from them.
We’ll, for now. A couple years after the change the national council will announce that it has unanimously voted to merge male and female units. Bo practical reason to keep them seperate, you see. This is how they do stuff at the national level. Then a few years after that ditch “Duty to God”..... religion’s a personal thing, dontcha know... then they’ll be done.
It has nothing to do with how fun it will be for girls. It isn’t PC to say anymore, but boys need a chance to be away from females...including moms.
Its an important part of development. And from age 11 or so is one thing.
But think hard and see if you can think of what will fill the brain space of every boy in the group from about 13 to 18 when missed with same aged girls?
This is foolish, and it is destroying something important for boys. Actually completing the destruction, Tillerson already put the homos in as leaders.

I admire your optimism but this is just the first phase to make it more acceptable - until the gender warriors unleash all thier complaints and threats. Segregation by sex is so yesterday. In a year or so they’ll be mixing “all” the “genders” and “non-genders”, etc., together. Then they’ll be dealing with all the problems that come from that, including bullying, assaults, pregnancies, etc. Everything the liberals infest turns into a swamp of depravity.
They’ll have to rename the organization to please the LGBTQYZ’s. The Boy Scouts are done. Another lib social-sexual experiment has begun.
Your take on it is interesting. My little girl would love to do fun things like that. But she wouldn’t want it to be called BOY scouts. Why can’t Girl Scouts do real, non SJW things?
Your arguments remind me of the SJW’s who are pro-illegal. “It’s so terrible where they’re from, they just want a better life.”
If Girl Scouts is too dull or boring, work to change it. Don’t latch on to somebody else’s group and demand it “fill a need”. JohnyBoy is dead on the money; this is just the next step in the incremental destruction of everything the BSA has been.
Better solution: have the Girl Scouts offer similar programs/badges to what the Boy Scouts offer.
