When Matt Walker played baseball for the Fayetteville SwampDogs, a collegiate summer team in the Coastal Plain League, his manager offered him and his teammates a lot of advice on how to conduct themselves on the field. Walker and his young teammates, who were trying to land a spot on a major league roster, typically played before crowds of 2,000 to 3,000 people, often in military towns. Fayetteville, in the North Carolina Sandhills, is located only 20 minutes from Fort Bragg, the largest military installation in the world. A majority of the fans, Walker said, were either in the military or related to someone who was. When it came to the national anthem, the manager’s instructions were simple: “Don’t slack, don’t sing or do something stupid, or we’ll have to let you go.”
Walker thinks former San Francisco 49ers player Colin Kaepernick’s initial demonstration, in which he sat on the bench during the national anthem, had nothing to do with protesting police violence. Rather, it was about being “pissed that he lost the starting [quarterback] job.” Walker, who now lives south of Fayetteville in Robeson County, N.C., believes Kaepernick probably realized he was being disrespectful, “and that’s why he covered his rear end [by] starting the whole protest.” Either way, Walker said, “If you can’t stand for the flag, which protects our rights, how can you demand to have a right to freedom of speech?” The protests of the national anthem that began last season with Kaepernick and continued this year have roiled the NFL, as difficult questions about race and patriotism have intruded into an area of life that’s usually immune from politics. Last weekend, President Trump called on NFL team owners to fire the “sons of bitches” who protest the anthem, adding rhetorical fuel to the fire.

It’s exactly the reason he sat. I thought so at the time. All of the liberal 49ers fans on the various sports forums want to argue it wasn’t, but they’re wrong. And now he’s going to be the catalyst for taking down their precious sport.

By showing disrespect he supports the 20 or so assaults many of which ended in deaths of non whites by black gangs like Christopher Lane in Duncan Oklahoma inspired by Obama’s lies during the Zimmerman trial. And the later cold blooded asassinations of police officers all over the country that went on afterward.

I don’t care what the NFL does this year — the owners showed their true colors (pun semi intended).
It is amazing how much time I got back with Sunday all-day and Monday nights (wasn’t much of a TNF fan).
I need to see differences in ATTITUDE before I start even considering watching again.

If my recollection is correct, Trump never called anyone a "son of a bitch," though he used the term in a more general sense--perhaps a troublesome employee, always instigating something, always getting into trouble.
Much like the "grab her by the pussy" comment, Trump's words are being twisted to the benefit of the media, which will do anything to take him down. By the way, my take on the "grab her by the pussy," was not a literal confession, but a euphemism for what it's probably like for a very wealthy, successful businessman when it comes to members of the opposite sex.
Regardless, the main story here is not that Trump used "SOB," but that his take on the anthem controversy was in line with the majority of Americans. We never bought into the justification that "police-induced oppression of blacks" was accurate, and we certainly don't care for the disparaging treatment of the Flag or our anthem.
I doubt that. IMO, most Trumps supporters like him BECAUSE he's not a career politician but a regular guy who prefers the blunt truth to politician bullsh!t.

Trump is winning this,,,he was always gonna win this. These scum get so caught up in their bubble, they really think football is that important. Saw a guy on CNN last night..he said a 10 to 15% impact would be a disaster for the league...a 40 to 50% impact would be a total melt down of the league....Christine Brennan, a writer for sports illustrated 2 weeks ago was crowing that Donald Trump “met his match” in the NFL..thought to myself “wanna bet”?...
