Don’t those transmission lines have heavy duty insulation? Those orange balls. Aren’t they meant to keep them from shorting out in hi wind areas?

Never could figure out why PG&E does not install their lines under ground.
Most of their service area is relatively good ground for underground installation.
Some is rough country but you just do it a section at a time, in a few years you eliminate the need for tree trimming and removal, and also outages from ice and snow.
