On Tuesday’s episode of MSNBC’s Deadline White House host Nicolle Wallace said the Second Amendment was intended to help fight against “foreign militias,” not to create an “armed population” while interviewing gun-control activists.
Wallace used New York Times columnist Bret Stephens recent op-ed calling for the repeal of the Second Amendment as a jumping-off point while interviewing John Feinblatt, president of Everytown for Gun Safety, and actress Julianne Moore. “A conservative wrote a piece last week that got a lot of attention about maybe opening up the conversation about the Second Amendment,” Wallace said. “His name is Bret Stephens, and he said the intellectually honest way to have this debate is to say that this isn’t what was intended, that we’re an armed population. This was a right to bear arms against foreign militias.”

What is she talking about? The most recent USSC rulings make clear the 2A is an individual right. That ends the old canard the lefties used to push about it being a collective “militia” right.
She changed the old arguments slightly, saying the militia refers to foreign militias but I am not sure how anyone can read that interpretation from the 2As “well regulated militia” but as pepsionice mentioned above even if you did read it that way it simply supports the notion that the people need to be armed.
The gun control acts of '34, '68, and '86 have largely neutered the Founding Father's intent.

I no longer discuss Second Amendment with leftist gun grabbers. I just say we have them, we know how to use them, and we are quite willing to use them. Do you think you have what it takes to come and get them?

Since the last amnesty the GOP only nominated amnesty/open borders presidential candidates until Trump broke through the blockade set up to keep us from stopping the illegal alien inundation.

You wanna hear some real cricket chirping, ask the constitutional experts to explain to you how “the people” mentioned in the 1st, 4th, 9th, and 10th amendments are different than “the people” mentioned in the 2nd amendment.

Perhaps she should read a history books. We won that war because armed men (not belonging to a state militia) joined in the fight for freedom. Equally as important Jefferson wanted an armed populace to keep an eye on the government.
