I'm former Army (long,long ago) so I know absolutely nothing about the Navy...or basic seamanship.But I'm wondering....if senior officers/petty officers were disciplined does that mean that it was determined that the McCain,rather than the other vessel,was at fault?

One would assume that that would be the case...but maybe the Navy takes a different view.

I’m a little puzzled about something. The Commander, the XO and the Senior Chief were relieved. Then the article says that the Chief of the ship was not relieved. Which Chief is being referred to?

Find it difficult to believe, given our Navy’s optempo over the last 15 years, that the CO only had three deployments. Most Department Heads have more than that. Apparently the key to selection for command of a billion dollar warship is duty as an Admiral’s aide and a tour in the Puzzle Palace, not demonstrated competence at sea.
