ESPN host compares Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones to a slave owner

On the same day that Jemele Hill was suspended from ESPN for tweeting about politics, another network personality, Michael Wilbon, compared Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones to a slave owner.

Mr. Wilbon, co-host of "Pardon the Interruption," took issue with Mr. Jones' stance that players who do not stand for the national anthem before football games will not play.

"And the word that comes to my mind―and I don’t care who doesn't like me using it―is plantation," Mr. Wilbon said on Monday’s show. "The players are here to serve me, and they will do what I want. No matter how much I pay them, they are not equal to me. That’s what this says to me and mine."

ESPN declined to comment on Mr. Wilbon's remarks.

Jones is another gutless billionaire who thought appeasing the bros in the pre-anthem kneel would end the issue. He will learn the hard way that if you feed the beast it doesn’t go away, it just larger and more aggressive.

Somebody needs to dig-up a basic employment contract — I’m sure Wilbon has one with ESPN — and explain to Mikey the difference between obligations set forth in a contractual relationship and how that differs from a classic Master-Slave relationship.

These poor oppressed NFL players.
I just can’t think of any group of humans on this planet who are oppressed in greater fashion.

Yeah, yeah, and TAFKAP was a slave to the record company. Listen NFL players, if you want to be the first self employed NFL players ( oh, wait, I guess Colin Kapernick sp?) is the first self employed professional football player, y’all are welcome to set up shop, pay your own insurance and cut yourself a paycheck. You want someone else to cover those expenses? You are then not a slave you are an employee with a boss and a contract. So pick and stfu and play football.

Al was much better back in the day when he was fat. I mean, look at the above picture. Look at the hair and the smooth stache and jumpsuit he's wearing. He's cool there...

This one's even better....

I fully agree! It’s high time those NFL owners set their players free. Release them, I say! Cast off their chains and set them free.

how did Jerry screw Romo?

Jerry made him very, very rich. Romo is fortunate to get out of the game when he did, before suffering permanent damage.

It must be remembered that the whole fiasco is being brought by men who are merely jocks.

There is no such thing as jock power. They are just jocks.
