Call Bannon’s bluff: The only way he’ll beat GOP incumbents is if they fold
The New York Post ^ | October 10th, 2017 | By John Podhoretz

Posted on 10/10/2017 7:47:12 PM PDT by Mariner

The 248 Republican officials serving in Washington who are up for election in 2018 are facing a deeper and more frightening version of the threat that has haunted GOP senators and representatives since the rise of the Tea Party in 2009: populist ouster from inside their own camp.

How much jeopardy does the right’s internal turmoil put them in? This may be the wrong question. The real issue may be how much jeopardy they think they might be in and what they might do to stave it off as a result.

This would seem to be a strange moment for such upheaval, since Republicans control the House and the Senate as well as the White House.

Conventional wisdom suggests the GOP and its supporters should work to build on these majorities rather than expend unnecessary energy (and money) on a civil war, state by state and district by district.

But we live in unconventional times.

The Republican Party is in the same position as the NFL:

It's too late.

They have to go.

There is no scenario under which we'll allow them to stay. None.

They can stay and try to fight us off, but they'd all be better off retiring with their existing campaign funds and converting them to a foundation that takes care of them and their for the rest of their lives.

“...There is no scenario under which we’ll allow them to stay. None. ...”

Brutal, accurate, and perfectly on-point. Well-said.

They screwed us.

We can return the favor.

Who gave the Republicans their majorities?

Who gave Reagan two massive landslides, Gingrich a massive mid-term landslide, and the elimination of 1,000+ Democrat seats since Obama was elected?

It sure as Hell weren't the moderates or moderate voters.

Either stand for something, or try and have it both ways and watch you lose both your base of support and the non-support of the opposition who'll hate your guts anyway. So-called moderate Republicanism has brought us to where we are today.

With any luck, National Review can run another special, brilliantly predicative issue telling us that any Trumpian candidates will lose and don’t deserve our support.

Yep!! He used to write coherent articles, no longer. 772 words of gobbledygook. Is it age, leftist creep? Who knows? But his articles are a waste of time.

The Uniparty will fight for survival.
The voters are getting smarter.

Eric Cantor, the weasel, was thrown out of being the sitting Majority Leader.
That scared them so bad they held off from passing Rubio’s amnesty, which they had planned to do the day after the primary.

Luther Strange, despite Trump’s endorsement went down in flames.

They won in Mississippi the last time with Cochran, hopefully McDaniel can take out Wicker this time around.

Flake has to go, Kelly Ward is already leading in polls.

Corker saw the handwriting on the wall and bailed.

Hatch needs to retire, but Utah should not give us Romney, he’d be worse.

Heller will probably lose the general if he is not taken out in the primary.

The list is long.

Alexander, Corker, Flake, Graham, Hatch, Heller, Hoeven, Murkowsky, McCain, Rubio, Gardner, Burr, Tillis, Portman, McConnell, Thune, Cornyn, Cochran, Isackson, Blunt, Johnson, Toomey, Capito, Rounds, Fischer, Collins, Wicker, Sasse, Ernst, Young, Boozman and Shelby are all undocumented Democrats in R jerseys.
