He had a 7.62 (308) AR-10 style rifle in one pic. A 25 round P-mag for it laid on the floor ,too.

I believe he was an auditor .... which does require brains but is not the same as an advanced engineer or scientist

Explains the reason for the AR-10 with the bi-pod in the left most image. Good thing Jet-A needs a lot of heat to ignite (410 degrees ?).

Laura Loomer just released a bomb shell regarding Jesus Campos. The one pic of Campos on the net is disturbing to me

50 BMG tracer rounds would be hard to come by...

UN Ammo in Phoenix has it for $2.90 a round. 100 rounds of .50 APIT sells for $315.00 including shipping. Add $20.00 if you want it linked and in a can.

Tracer rounds are hardly accurate enough to give precise aim.

Using a bump stock doesn't allow for precise aim -- particularly when you're shooting at something 1,500 feet away. And as you observed, the use of tracer rounds doesn't help much.

“You can tell the motive by looking at the people he killed. Who were they? It wasn’t a teachers convention.”

Yes that is an important clue/fact.

The other big clue is the 23 guns. He could never shoot but a handful of them, so why so many?

He was either expecting help or he was trying to make a statement about guns.

I doubt he used the bump stock on the shots he took toward the petro tanks.

I presumed in a previous thread (post #22)...

http://freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/3593267/posts

that Paddocks note found with the trajectory calculations were for those fuel tanks; with also the said presumption that igniting them would compact the crowd even more than they already were so that they would be in an even more tightly grouped area of effect; sufficient enough for bump-firing into said area(as if it were necessary). I feel confident they would be able to tell the caliber and composition of the rounds that hit those tanks.

If forensics shows that incendiaries were fired into those tanks, it would facilitate my personal observation. It is obviously apparent to most of us; but not him for some reason, that the vapors ignite, not the fuel. This would also go further to show that this man was not as much as a genius as he perceived himself to be. Perhaps, he never tested his theory, and never watched MythBusters.

Too many Hollywood movies seen? No one will ever know. But, then again; what do i know? I was just a cook.

I doubt a tracer round would explode a cold tank of kerosene. He would have done more damage firing at a SUV gas tank.

Probably quarter inch or better steel in most of those type tanks .... difficult to believe a 556 or 308 at several hundred yards would be successful.

Since Paddock didn't use the tracer rounds, we don't know what he intended to do with them. Paddock obviously intended to use the incendiaries when targeting the fuel tank. Since precision would be required for the fuel tank, I can see why you think that was the intended purpose of the tracer rounds.

Since the bump stock used on the festival grounds would have resulted in less accurate fire, my assumption was the tracer rounds were intended to help him target the festival grounds. Using a bump stock at a range of 1,000 feet would result in wide dispersion. Paddock probably would have been better able to achieve his evil objective and caused more casualties if he hadn't used the bump stock.

Shooting a 308 at fuel tanks that distance is like shooting at it with a bb gun.

50 Cal Barrett, maybe with armor piercing, but standard 50 cal ball, maybe pop a dent in it.

Armor piercing is near impossible to get because its only seen in war zones.

Range rules in the USA make it near impossible to use and the cost is prohibitive so its not wasted on training.

I'm sure a few made it home from Iraq in the bottom of someones foot locker though.

Tracers are good for walking it to your target area though.

Tracers produce a flame....my ass LOL. Some experts that CNN.

Tracers are nothing more than a little painted on phosphorus ring that burns off and shows the bullets path which I am sure you already know.

I’ve also heard he picked up a more powerful rifle but that wasn’t found anywhere who knows what or where that story came from
