The owners are surely pushing this ... they are already feeling the hit in their pocketbook.

The NFL is the new millennium’s version of the Dixie Chicks. They will eventually recover but they will never be as popular and as profitable as they were before they doubled down on stupid.
I was thinking their cry baby acts were more of a bargaining chip come contract time but that could also be in play.

Two year mandatory enlistment in the armed services should be required and would bring about a more disciplined NFL. :)
The real shame of this is you have to write a rule forcing Americans to stand for its own National Anthem!
How about:
Create a new league called the UNFL (the Un-National Football League) for “the disenfranchised”.
Then let the NFL bar all documented insulters of the Nation and also prohibit its teams any official interaction with the UNFL.

They 'stood" once before. and linked arms. That would be another slap in the face - thinking they could do just enough to make it ok -but not REALLY the right way. I pray that the people who have stopped watching - do it long enough to break the habit. After a few weeks, they'll find there's a lot of other things to do with time.
