Mexican drug cartels?!?! Hmmm...Very Interesting article at link...As they say, follow the money!

http://gotnews.com/exclusive-law-enforcement-legal-marijuana-industry-suspect-mexican-drug-cartels-behind-california-wildfires/

EXCLUSIVE: Law Enforcement, Legal Marijuana Industry Suspect Mexican Drug Cartels Behind California Wildfires

Law enforcement officials and legal marijuana industry leaders alike are beginning to suspect the Mexican drug cartels played a role in starting the deadly fires.

While massive wildfires are far from uncommon in California’s forests, they usually occur in December and January, not October. Moreover, this year’s have widely been described as unprecedented in size and destruction. Some 16 fires have burned over 200,000 acres of land in Northern California so far: (Video)

Law enforcement authorities – including senior Department of Homeland Security officials – and key people within the legal marijuana business quickly noticed that the areas hit hardest by the fires are the same places that California’s marijuana industry legally grows cannabis, and are now starting to suspect foul play.

The suspicious timing and sheer destruction of the fires has led them to believe the Mexican drug cartels – infamous for their ruthless tactics – had a hand in starting them. These cartels, which run a large share of the world’s multi-billion dollar illegal drug trade, certainly have the means to pull of an attack like this.

They also have an enormous incentive to drive up prices and hurt their competitors, and these fires are already accomplishing that. If Mexican drug lord involvement is confirmed, it will likely spark an international crisis between the United States and Mexico over the latter’s failure to rein in its criminal cartels.

The Chron story was harrowing.

The word “harrowing” is one of the best descriptions I have seen. Just cannot imagine what it was like to go thru it!

It makes sense, it really does.

But this sentence kind of made me want to stop reading: “While massive wildfires are far from uncommon in California’s forests, they usually occur in December and January, not October.”

That is a very glaring piece of erroneous information.

Inspiring story about the Santa Rosa Hospital Staff and their efforts during the fires. More at link.

http://www.sfgate.com/news/article/Their-homes-went-up-in-flames-but-saving-lives-12282891.php

As Santa Rosa hospital staff’s own homes burned, they kept saving lives

Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital stayed open even though 51 of its doctors lost their homes. It stayed open even when twice as many patients as normal crowded into its emergency room, coughing and gasping. It stayed open and delivered 36 babies.

“We had no way of knowing what was coming,” said Tyler Hedden, the hospital’s chief operating officer, reflecting on Monday about what was doubtless the toughest week in the hospital’s 67-year history.

Sonoma County began burning in the late hours of Oct. 8. Within days, the voracious wildfires would grow to be among the deadliest, most damaging blazes in California’s history, killing 41 people — 22 of them in Sonoma County — and gobbling thousands of homes and hundreds of thousands of acres.

Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital was one of the first places to get the call. Get ready, said the paramedics in the ambulances, we’re coming.

.
WTC didn’t “melt,” it was demolished by cutting charges at each floor, starting from the top.

As the video clearly showed, it was in freefall, literally.

https://www.wineindustryadvisor.com/2017/10/18/napa-winemakers-optimistic-begins-recover

From the article (more at link):

Napa Valley Winemakers Optimistic as Famed Wine Region Begins to Recover

10/18/2017 – Napa, CA – Despite Mother Nature challenging Napa, Sonoma, Mendocino, Solano and Lake Counties in unimaginable ways, the tragic wildfires of the past 10 days have demonstrated the spirit of strength and resilience of these communities.

Across the North Coast region, more than 40 lives were lost, thousands of homes and businesses were destroyed and the natural landscape of the area’s forests and hillsides will take years to recover.

In spite of this devastating human toll, reports of wine industry damage in the Napa Valley do not appear to be widespread. As of today, the Napa Valley Vintners (NVV) nonprofit association has heard from 330 of its member wineries. Direct damage from the fires was reported by 47 member wineries and just a handful experienced significant property loss.

Hmm Could he be illegal and working for cartels?

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3596473/posts

WASHINGTON, DC — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Acting Director Tom Homan confirmed on Thursday that a man arrested in connection with setting a fire in Sonoma County Wine Country is an illegal alien from Mexico who has been twice returned to his “home country.”

Homan also confirmed that ICE has issued detainer requests for Jesus Fabian Gonzalez five times now in the past year alone, including the one issued on October 16 in relation to his most recent arrest on suspicion of arson. All of the arrests were made “by Sonoma County on various felony and misdemeanor charges,” according to Homan.

To this former Mendocino resident, the cartel angle sounds perfectly logical. Lots and lots of allegedly good marijuana grown back in those hills. I lived quite close to the coast and don’t believe there was any around me, but plenty of stones wobbling around attested to plentiful supply.

Would be great to round up the cartel guys.
