I believe Kaepernick is done for a lot of reasons including his usefulness as a player has greatly diminished. One of the key dimensions Kaepernick added was his running ability. As a QB gets older, their running ability declines far more quickly than their passing ability.
Taking a knee for a season isn’t going to help his running or passing ability much either.
