Personally, I think speculation until one has the evidence is counterproductive and just makes people look like nutjob conspiracy theorists. It’s embarrassing when supposed conservatives start pushing narratives that fit their preconceived paradigm (’he was a leftist’ ‘he targeted country music fans because they were Trump supporters’ ‘there was a second shooter’).

Sometimes things just have causes that don’t fit into our worldview or even make much sense at all.

He’s the perfect case for gun control and that was his agenda.

His target also reveals his motives.

He was a leftist loon.

Since he left a video the authorities know exactly why he did it.

Hope I am wrong, but don’t think so.

I would agree with you, we should definitely wait until the facts are in. Speculation is merely mental masturbation. It is entirely possible, for example, that he had a brain tumor. This is apparently what happened with Charles Whitman, the shooter in the tower at UT Austin in 1965. Of course, no one knew this until after he had killed 15 people and was himself killed by the police.

This is why I try to exercise caution in regards to this news story.
