Indeed. Most people believe the Islamic State is lying in claiming any connection to this, and that Paddock was not a convert to Islam. But ISIS continues to claim the attack anyway, and does not have a history of claiming credit for attacks for which they were not responsible. Maybe they’ve started doing so now. Maybe not.
Maybe they could tell us what day he made the reservation and what day he checked in, before the authorities do. Still haven’t heard either of those little tidbits.
Not enough info to do much with. I mean it would explain a lot if he had gone to the dark cult of Islam but for now I’m not buying it. Let’s see what his lady friend has to say first. Hopefully she is open and honest about this understanding the gravity of it all and gives us an insight to his true motives.
I think that’s pretty much what we need right now. The far left nut who gunned down the Republicans on the ball field was easy enough to figure out even though the left denies it. When that shooter asked if it was the Republicans practicing then started shooting; it was clear he was there to shoot right wingers due to the hate all leftists carry in their hearts. We need a fact like that to really know for sure.
Heck; look at the guy in Aurora, CO at the Batman movie who was nuts and shot up that theater. He was just plain bat chit crazy. We could see it by the looking at the pics of him afterward. His eyes gave it away. Crazy, smart, but crazy. He didn’t do it for ideology; he picked that theater because it was a no guns allowed zone so he knew his chances of getting shot at were much lower there.
By coincidence Showtime just started a series on the mass murder shootings in America tonight. The Aurora Theater one was first. Maybe by the time they get to this one they will have enough facts to tell the story right. I think in the long run it will simply be an anti-gun series designed to work on emotions because they always lose when up against facts as the recent article below suggests.

He checked in on the 28th. That is and has been known since the morning of the shooting. As for when he made the reservation, that is now under investigative seal for evidence forensics.
My sister has worked there from the day it opened, I want to say in 1990. They were told to not speak to the media in addition to not discuss MGM or Mandalay details with anyone until further notice.
The reason is not nefarious but more for containment of facts and not hearsay for the forensics of the entire event. There are also litigation concerns as well and getting all sorts of errant ‘facts’ spread only makes the situation worse.
As for the notion that rooms are booked way in advance, yes that is mostly true but there are also cancellations in addition to blocked rooms for comps and families/friends of the employees. I know because when having to go to an event there in 2011 at the last moment, I was able to get a room during the Barrett-Jackson auction held at the Mandalay. A suite similar to that one on the 18th floor was all they had available and it was from a cancellation.
So, I wish everyone would put away their tin-foil hats. More real facts will be coming out daily and a better picture of what happened before will become clear, especially since the girl friend is in country now and cooperating. Rest assured the best profilers will be doing the interviews.
Of course he did. You don’t need to be a military strategy genius to guess that Paddock would have reconoitered the area prior to carrying out his mission.
This is one of the most irritating stories in the entire world to have to listen to on talk radio. Because there are grand total of about 11 facts to this story all of which lead to no conclusion whatsoever. I recognize I’m complaining about an irritation in the light of a completely horrific experience where dozens of people were killed and hundreds wounded but there is no news here.
They should have found prayer rugs, Korans and other Islamic paraphernalia in Paddock’s homes.
But of course they may not want it public as of yet.

I was watching the international arrival listing for McCarran. Virtually all came from LAX, some from Frisco. All came in about the same time 8:30-9:00 PM.
I knew that she was coming from the Sheriff’s news conference earlier in the day but it was validated last night by Adam Hously during Sean’s show that she would be arriving that night.
Put 2 and 2 together to figure out the approximate time.
Oddly I’m more willing to believe ISIS on this point than the political FBI.
There is more evidence of an ISIS link than a Trump /Russia link.
And , yet, due to a political agenda one is denied and the other pursued with the entire force of the US government.

I find it incredibly disturbing that a man, 64 years of age, when searching for information, one can’t really find too much. When I google his name, there is really nothing of this guy’s history other than recent events. I am ten years younger and there is stuff on me out there on the net.
I believe this was a deep state op, designed to hurt Trump into submitting. It is like when criminals hold hostages of family members. What do they do? They threaten, start killing off members, one by one.
If that can’t get to Trump, they kill his people. I so hope I am wrong.
Drudge had an article posted yesterday that Paddock rented multiple condos at a different hotel earlier in the month. That week there was another concert headlined by Lorde & Chance the Rapper.
That might indicate he was less interested in the demographics of the crowd, and more concerned with finding “a” crowd - any crowd.
Paddock’s targets would make one think of ISIS’s targets: Christians. Paddock’s attack mirrors the ISIS onslaught against the civilized peoples of the world.
Were he an actual jihadi he would have been bound by the pledge to Allah to shoot it out with the police, or blow himself up in order to take out others. But not simple suicide by his own hand wherein he only takes out himself. Contrary to jihadist principles .
Correct - if he converted to Islam evidence to that effect will turn up if it hasn’t already.
Once the LVMPD (FBI too, maybe) finishes sifting through the multiple electronic devices and hard drives collected at the scene and other properties Paddock owned, we will know more.
Until then, we do not know anything regarding affiliations.
Like the democrats, ISIS also believes in “never letting a crises go to waste.”
