When the licences were issued is more interesting. Did he have a Nevada License? Having been issued a hunting licence some time in your past doesn’t mean a whole lot.

It's suspicious that no one has found any social media by this guy. Did authorities delay releasing the name to the public so that social media could be scrubbed? We have seen authorities from Oakland to Charlottesville using their positions to protect Antifa and leftwing lunatics.

Yeah! Old J Edgar would have had the weapons paperwork, backyard photo's, the Russian connection all ready for newspaper publication by now!

I believe the Lockheed thing was many years back.

As to the feds scrubbing an antifa Facebook that belonged to him- I’m skeptical. That can’t be kept under wraps. Even with Deep State, regular people who knew him, followers on fb, someone will talk. How did these people claiming this find out? What is their source? It would have happened before his name was public...in the middle of the night.

The ammo would have only been 2 green metal tins if he had 2k rounds. The weapons he could have broken down and brought them up a couple of a time in a case or luggage. Some riffle cases do not look like riffle cases.

It would be easy to bring them into the hotel and up to the 32nd floor room in a golf bag. Obviously the hotel lacked security checkpoints with metal detectors.

At some point I expect a class-action civil suit against the Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino for lack of security that allowed the guns to be brought into the hotel. In this case such a suit might even bankrupt the hotel.

Another class-action civil suit against the estate of the shooter.

Why is there NO evidence of motive whatsoever ? Weird. Maybe he isn’t the shooter? Who knows?Prayers for the victims and their families.

If she was married to an American didn't she become a citizen?

Nope.

Being married to an American only gives you the option to become a citizen. You do not become one automatically. You still have to live in the US a certain amount of time and pass the test.

You do get residency privileges (as long as there is not a compelling reason to deny) and it is easier to get a green card. Note that I said easier. The green card is not automatic either.

I know there was a lot out there that may end up not being true, but I read an article today that said the girlfriend was Indonesian but was traveling on an Australian passport? She seems to get around quite a bit.

The fact that he’s with an asian lady nudges me in the direction of thinking it’s him. But hardly a sure thing.

But if it is him, then here’s a massively over-extrapolated scenario: He’s a raging lefty, he hates deplorables, and the Trump election has driven him over the edge. What’s more, he’s a gun control nut. So he decides to massacre a crowd of country music loving red staters, hoping the outcry will create decisive pressure for gun control, especially if he can rack up a historic body count. He packs the hotel room with an absurd number of automatic weapons, not because they’re needed, but because they’ll make a statement about how easy it is to accumulate an arsenal. Thus he goes out in blaze of hate filled SJW glory.

A brain tumor, nestled between his thalamus, hypothalamus and amygdala, developed quietly to the size of a pecan.

During his 25th year, Whitman began to complain of headaches, a severe, persistent pain that he later described as “tremendous.” He wrote increasingly troubled journal entries detailing his mental state: “Recently (I cannot recall when it started) I have been a victim of many unusual and irrational thoughts.” He paid a visit to the campus mental health center complaining of violent impulses.

Then, one sweltering August day in 1966, Whitman did something no one expected: He climbed to the top of the UT tower with a sawed-off shotgun, and began shooting. His 96-minute reign of terror killed 13 people on campus and injured over 30, and only ended when he was killed by Austin police.

Whitman’s suicide note requested an autopsy to examine his brain, because he was convinced it would show some “visible physical disorder.”

"He apparently had never met his father."

Where did you see that? I don't think it's true (but a lot of info is uncertain right now). One article said the parents and 4 kids lived together in Arizona as of 1961, when Stephen (the perp) would have been around 8 years old. Then the father was in and out of prison for years, and went on the lam after a prison escape. So it may well be true that it was a very broken family due to the father's criminal career, but we don't know what correspondence and meetings there might (or might not) have been over the years. It's quite possible he didn't have too much a relationship with his father after age 8 (or even before), but from what I've read they had some kind of family home in the early years.

[sorry I don't recall at this moment where I read about the family's life in the 1960s, I will try to find it, wasn't very detailed but the article certainly did not suggest that Stephen did not know his father at all]

wondering if anyone has considered whether marilou’s marriage to geary was an immigration marriage, with stephen as the beneficiary, paying his brother and keeping the arrangement “off the books” (so to speak). just a question— no information...

The history I mentioned is tied to Paddock, who has been confirmed as the killer.

No quarrel, but I'll keep checking for corroboration.

In an interview with the brother he said he had not actually seen his brother face to face in a decade. They texted each other on a regular basis is what I got from the interview. People can change a lot in a decade.

There is an amazing amount of stuff about the guy we still don’t know. Seriously, no comments from neighbors, no one whom he gambled with, no comments from his out of country GF? He is reported to have a hunting and fishing license and a pilot license. No comments from fellow hunters, or pilots or FBO’s who knew him? Very vague employment history. I cant think of a high profile shooter we have known so little about ever. So whatever his history is, those that are digging into it are probably only finding stuff they would rather bury.

Well I don’t think we know much at all about what he has done since that one job in the ‘80s. There are references to him owning buildings and assertions about his gambling, but there has been very little solid info about his life and detailed activities. Granted, if he had been in long-term jobs after that auditor job in the 1980s we’d **probably** have heard about it by now, but I don’t think we really know too much that is totally solid about this guy’s life, work, money, and activities.

We don’t really know if he is wealthy or broke, if his gambling kept him going or if he was crashing and burning into financial disaster. I doubt that we will suddenly find out he has worked as a corporate accountant for 1989-2009, but at the moment there is not much solid info.

With the references to owning two planes and having a pilot’s license I have to wonder (highly speculative) if he did anything with drugs or money laundering, criminal world etc. Especially since he seems to have had no one or a few addresses for very long periods of time. He’s been all over the place, without any obvious “career” reason for the moves. I have no idea, just something that should be looked at very closely as investigators track where he made and spent money, how he has spent his time over the years, especially the recent months and years.

Can a brain tumor cause someone to depart from an otherwise normal life... It can certainly cause someone to renege on his promise to repeal Obamacare

Wondered how long before McCain is suggested as Paddock's accomplice...

If he was hiding his love for guns FROM HIS OWN BROTHER AND OTHER FRIENDS, THEN HE WAS HIDING HIS AFFILIATION WITH ISIS.

That certainly seems like a plausible hypothesis. It is a mystery why he’d bother to bring **so many** weapons to the hotel, especially since each time he’s transporting gives some chance (even if very slight) of being hassled or found out. I can understand he wanted some extra weapons on hand, but 18-19 as has been reported?? That seems rather bizarre under any scenario except the one you outline. (well it would still be bizarre, but at least you offer an explanation!)
