I posted on Twitter a question: did the shooter get inside help from the hotel clean staff to get all those weapons into the hotel room?
Good question. That many guns and that much ammo, along with tripods (as I’ve heard) and drum mags would take up a lot of room and take awhile to setup.
- How long was this lunatic in his room setting up? If maid service entered the room, they would have likely noticed something was amiss. Either there would be a *lot* of bagged gear or a *lot* of guns in the room.
- How did this lunatic transport all this gear up to the room. It would have filled one of those bellhop trolleys and if a bellhop assisted, he might notice the bags were awful heavy on solid.
If you put a little do not disturb sign out, the maid service won’t go in. Easypeasy.
Maid service isn’t going to enter until the next morning after check-in. “Do not disturb” sign will ensure it.
Can easily move 3 long guns in a decently large case. Full auto can probably break several down into a duffel bag. 1-2 trolleys will move it easily. 10 isn’t that hard to move unnoticed in a place where people are moving lots of odd-shaped luggage.
1000 rounds, pre-loaded in belts or large mags, fits a small suitcase.
Upshot: nobody gives a $#!^ about someone moving the luggage needed for that. Maids are easily kept out.
I travel for work all the time and stay in a LOT of hotels. If you put your "Do not disturb" sign on the door, they won't come in, period. I even know people who do this as a matter of course and never have maid service when they stay at hotels.
