They usually don’t show the anthem. Some prime time games and the Super Bowl but usually, especially before DOD started paying them, that happened while TV audience were getting the announcer gabber. Going back to the old ways is a fine solution.
Not sure it is much of a solution as the media and players will keep pushing it.
But they are forgetting those who are at the stadium who now have cell phones and ready access to Trump’s favorite media clipping tool. Saying these goofs live in a bubble is being gracious.

That may be true, BUT they probably started showing the anthem because the people wanted to see it. Maybe because a famous performer was doing it; maybe because there’d be a cool military flyby or some other tribute; maybe because some viewers are just patriotic like that, or even Veterans themselves.
Nonetheless, when they consider their solution, they’d do well to remember why they started showing the anthem in the first place if it was, in fact, unusual.

Usual GOP solution - give them what the want, in this case no more anthem showing pride in America (at least on TV), and then declare victory and move on.
Kind of reminds me of Mario The Pius, when, during our saturation bombing of Iraq in Jan, 1991, he said that we should “declare victory and go home”, rather than launch the invasion necessary to extract them from Kuwait.
Nope, SORRY, but now that they’ve put the knees and arm-locking IN MY FACE for the past month (really year plus), they will have to get on their knees one more time, except TO ME, Mr. (former) Football Fan. And, of course, it will take much more now than just begging me to ‘forget it ever happened’ as their contracts melt away, so I don’t give the NFL much hope.
Not really because the fans in the stands will still see it.
AND THEY WILL STILL BE DOING IT!!
