CBS: The preliminary number for THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL at 3.4 looks bad compared to last years final 6.1 rating for the parallel week, but its more in line with the CBS premiere game in 2016, which had an early 3.8.

Quit watching games. You can always check on the thugs' scores by checking onto Yahoo Sports blog, or FOX Sports blog, or other sources to get the score. I was concerned about tuning in for the first few minutes to check for kneeling, etc. , but I didn't because I thought even one second of watching game will count towards the total ratings. Is this true?

Yep, having “conversations” is all the rage these days.
Of course their idea of a “conversation” is more like a re-education camp.

Yes. Here's a fine picture of the "conversation" we had on Obamacare:

The game played last year at the same time was San Fran and Arizona.
This game rated higher than Green Bay versus Chicago?

" but I didn't because I thought even one second of watching game will count towards the total ratings. Is this true? "I don't personally know this to be true, but... someone here at FR who seems to be in a position to know has posted to that effect. Sorry I can't recall who it is, etc.
Yes, tuning in to any program, period, is about the same thing as visiting a website. You click it, you've been there, and your visit has been recorded.

That will probably only happen at Green Bay.
