ICE said it arrested 167 people in and around Los Angeles, a region in which several cities and counties have been tagged by justice officials as being so-called sanctuaries — a loosely defined term used to describe local governments that restrict police from assisting immigration authorities in identifying and detaining people suspected of being in the country illegally.

Operation Safe City arrests took place in Baltimore (28), Cook County, Illinois (30), Denver (63), Los Angeles (101), New York (45), Philadelphia (107), Portland, Ore. (33), Santa Clara County, Calif (27); and Washington, D.C. (14) and the state of Massachusetts (50).
Make that 16,700 or 167,000 and I’d be happier.

Allow me to correct that heading:
“... hundreds of ILLEGAL ALIEN CRIMINALS...”
There. Now it’s better.
At least 1 in every 8 students in Calif have AT LEAST one parent who is an ILLEGAL ALIEN.
In California alone there are 3 million illegal aliens; there are 40 million people total.
In Israel, illegals are commonly called INFILTRATORS.
Cook County Clerk David Orr Statement on Bolstering Sanctuary Ordinances
Cook County and the City of Chicago have a long history of welcoming immigrants, who have made great cultural, economic and civic contributions to our city and county. While serving as Alderman in 1985, I supported Mayor Harold Washington’s executive order to make Chicago a welcoming city to immigrants and I favored subsequent efforts by the Cook County Board of Commissioners and Chicago City Council to pass and strengthen sanctuary ordinances.
As the President attacks and demonizes millions of immigrant families, Cook County and the City of Chicago must maintain and bolster their sanctuary protections. Our immigrant family members, friends and neighbors must be protected and supported, regardless of immigration status.
The President should clearly understand that city and county law enforcement agencies are not an extension of ICE. We cannot enforce or support draconian policies that tear families apart, further erode community trust in law enforcement, and cost city and county taxpayer dollars.
I commend those in Cook County and City of Chicago who are working to strengthen protections of immigrants. I urge Governor Rauner to denounce the President’s rhetoric and actions and to fight efforts by ICE to use State of Illinois resources. Illinois has always welcomed immigrants and the Governor should not turn his back on our fellow immigrant brothers and sisters. As with the budget impasse, this is another example of Governor Rauner’s failed leadership.
Today was a drop in the bucket, but they put the onus on LA and the others very well. They said, if we got these people right out of jail it would have not caused as much ruckus in the neighborhoods and collateral people wouldn’t have been arrested. Putting the onus on the locals for more arrest in opposition to their sanctuary goals.
It’s nice we know where to find them...
