Abortion Activists: No, Unborn Babies Don’t Feel Pain in Dismemberment Abortions
Life News ^ | Sep 27, 2017 | Father Frank Pavone

Of all the indefensible claims made by abortionists, there are some that apparently even they can’t bring themselves to take seriously — or argue in court.

Take, for example, the abortion lobby’s allegations against the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, a law now being enforced in 15 states and with a national version set to come up for a vote in the House of Representatives next week.

The measure has been on the books since Nebraska passed the first such law in 2010, protecting from abortion any unborn babies old enough to feel the pain of having their arms and legs ripped from their bodies. Yet, while major abortion profiteers and their enablers verbalize opposition to the legislation year after year, they remain all talk and no lawsuit.

Bull effin poop.

I saw with my OWN EYES my unborn son jerk his tiny hand away when the ghastly doctor was trying to poke it with his amnio needle. Doc was laughing. I was barely a mama yet my hands were preparing to clench that doctor’s throat in murder already.

OMG. They can kick in the womb, turn around, etc., but they are non-sentient beings?

I have had two children and I am quite sure that a fetus can feel pain. Why would these people assume that an animal can feel pain but an unborn child can’t?

And that is a true maternal instinct. Most of us would die for our children.

That doctor was a real jerk. I guess they have to put up some sort of shell in order to treat people? Not sure. But if a person lets himself get too emotional over every case, it would be overwhelming. But you would think that being an obstetrician would generally be a happy way to work in medicine.

What can amnio detect, which cannot be detected by other means, that can be remedied or treated in the womb?

As it should be.

No one else in this world will love a baby like a mother. That baby relies on its mother for protection, food, warmth, love, ... everything.

That is the way God intended it.

On the underlying question moral question discussed here, nothing addresses it better than the simple logic of this quotation from Mother Teresa, who, at the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, DC, in the presence of both Bill and Hillary Clinton, on February 3, 1994, stated: "And if we accept that a mother can kill even her own child, how can we tell other people not to kill one another?"

Mother Teresa's declaration may be the most powerful statement from which to begin discussions of where any candidate stands on all the questions of life and liberty.

In America, our constitutional protections rest on the Founders' premise that each and all individuals are "endowed by their Creator" with the unalienable right to both life and the liberty to enjoy it, or, in their words, "the pursuit of happiness."

The sole reason these rights were deemed unalienable is that both are derived from the Creator--not from the mother or father, and not from government or judicial decision. What is "granted" by human decision also can, by implication, be withheld.

"The God who gave us life, gave us liberty at the same time: the hand of force may destroy, but cannot disjoin them (life and liberty)," said Thomas Jefferson.

"The world is different now. . . and yet the same revolutionary beliefs for which our forefathers fought are still at issue around the globe--the belief that the rights of man come not from the generosity of the state but from the hand of God." - John F. Kennedy, Inaugural Address

That understanding underlies every other consideration embodied in our Declaration of Independence and every protection of our Constitution. It is the very basis of our rights to life and liberty, of laws to protect them, and it distinguishes ours from other forms of government.

When we fail to acknowledge that foundation of our liberty, then we risk liberty itself for future generations, for where does the right to choose who lives and who does not really end?

That is why the question is of vital importance in each election. Already, we have deprived millions of their Creator-endowed rights to life and liberty, and our nation must be weaker for their loss. We need leaders, from the Executive, Legislative and Judicial Branches, who understand the implications and potential consequences of departing from our founding principles.

In recent decades, technological advances have enabled us to observe the characteristics and actions of God's tiniest creations in the womb. Unlike previous generations who could not see, we have no excuse for imagining that these are mere blobs of tissue labeled "fetuses." In their early weeks, we now can see that they are living babies who will continue on to possess life and liberty if we do not "destroy" both. Indeed, they are simply smaller versions of ourselves.

Questions on the economy, taxes, threats from terrorists, health care--all are important considerations for the President, Vice President, and all government elected and appointed individuals. One, however, may be basic to all others. Who best protects the underlying premise of our Constitution--and the lives and liberties of millions yet unborn?

Promises are illusive and cheap. One fact is indisputable, however: Hillary Clinton and all Progressives in government are committed to the "Progressive" Far Left's agenda on this matter, and that agenda is not compatible with our Constitution's premise.

Even if the babies don’t feel pain, those butchers of babies should feel pain for the babies and stop killing them.

You might want to ask your pro-life friends to call their Congressperson.

I received this from my diocese via email:

“Urgent Call to Action! The U.S. House of Representatives is expected to vote on Tuesday, October 3 on The Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act (H.R. 36). Please contact your member of the House of Representatives immediately and urge support for this life-saving legislation!”

My husband is going to pray in front of a Planned Parenthood, and I asked him to share this with his pro-life friends.
