Just saw that. Ugh!
Old free Republic spar thread on Senator Moore
Sad to be honest lots of dead freepers

One anti Moore poster write a poignant update about cancer on their homepage about the dire state of their illness and last post was 2009
Golightly.....I reckon passed away with no memorial thread
Sad....reallly ...like nobody here knew or was appraised
freepers should die noisily
A victory tonight....I love seeing Moore toasted here
Golightly if you are indeed gone you are hereby eulogized on the forum 8 years later
Godspeed you showed courage just perusing your posts about your illness
http://freerepublic.com/~golightly/
Used to hunt there on an old plantation
And partied in Camden.....early 80s
Praying you’re right.
Good to see you, here.
Alright, NOW they’re going to Moore’s victory speech.
I liked it the other way...
As the crowd approached, brandishing their oars menacingly...
It is said that The Donald is a master ‘chess’ player; always several moves ahead of the opposition. President Trump is also known to be a man of his word. He campaigns for Strange, probably because he made a deal with McConnell, and also because he had promised to support the party.
It’s the timing of Trump’s remarks in support of the National Anthem and proper decorum, beginning in Alabama at the rally for Strange, four days before this election, and continuing through the weekend to today, that I find VERY interesting. Trump had to know how the left would react, what they would do and say. I also think he knew how today’s election outcome would be affected by said events. I think Trump knew that Moore would be helped more than Strange by all this.
That’s my theory, anyway. Okay - Discuss!
Bannon intros Moore!
Good points.
Bannon intros Moore!
I've been laying low, so much to do offline.
Latest with me: Into Year 2 without the NFL, and I quickly discovered that I don't miss it at all. Supporting my wife as she begins an online business - hoping for success. Decided my Doctoral program was a huge useless money drain to study a load of junk I don't believe in one iota - so I dropped it - I'm too long in the tooth to put up with that, and it was a vanity degree anyway.
I haven't been posting much, but I am still following politics with a sharp eye. I need to reconnect with my friends on FR more frequently.
I think you might have something there.
Yep. If u can’t win after spending 30 million,
you are in touble, with a credible challenger.
“Alabamians don’t need Trump or anyone to tell them how to vote. I do think Luther’s attack ads probably helped Moore.”
I admit I don’t know the candidates, and that I wanted Moore to win just to gut punch McConnell, but I hope Moore is all he’s made out to be.
I think it has to do a lot with loyalty. To my knowledge, I don't think Strange cast a vote against him. The only misstep the man made was to sign on to that pledge about keeping the filibuster rule, which he recanted.
I don't think Luther Strange is a bad man, and I don't think his supporters were idiots. But he wasn't the right man for the times.
I think Judge Moore is a fine man, and I also think this vote was the Forgotten Man and Woman sending a signal that they haven't gone back to sleep.
I think McConnell and crew had hoped that MAGA Nation had drifted off. I don't think that's going to happen. We've taken to this quite nicely, thanks, Mitch.
Nigel Farage must’ve gone back across the Pond. It was a great night for him, too.
Good for you! Time to get back to the basics of life ;-)
Yes, you need to check in more often. We miss your take on all things.
Hope some rats flip.
So happy Corker shiv’ed himself.
And by next year, after the mid-terms, I have a feeling that few people will remember that Trump backed Strange over Moore. Bygones. Rear-view.
Nigel, Bannon, Sarah Palin, Duck Dynasty....lots of wins, with this one.
NOT tired of this winning :-)
