My brother and a friend of his recently went for a ride on their motorcycles and were going to go into Canada but we’re denied because my brother got a DUO forty years ago.

Yeah, he can request to have it changed. There is a process he can go through. Same thing for most misdemeanors. I have, umm, first hand knowledge. :D

P.S. My son just obtained permanent resident status for Canada; no criminal convictions, and also he is a civil engineer, which is much better in Canada, given their generally good manners, than being an uncivil engineer. If he starts rooting for the Blue Jays, I will begin to worry.
