On Friday night President Trump lashed out at NFL players protesting the national anthem on Friday while at a campaign rally for Senator Luther Strange (R-AL).
On Sunday over two hundred NFL players and staff knelt down in protest during the national anthem.
Americans reacted to the controversy by boycotting the league.
Early numbers show weekly NFL ratings may be down by 10% due to the stunt.

I will now walk out of any bar that is airing a football game and I will let them know that they do not deserve my money.
Great! Maybe as the season goes on the numbers will tank even more.......Please Lord
They were lower than that. They are cooking the books.
There isn’t much hunting left.
It is a rich mans sport. Very few places to have access to game unless you know someone, or shell out big money.
Keep it positive. Save the public shaming for the NFL. We should try to actively persuade friends and family.
“Don’t tell them but doesn’t “taking a knee” mean showing respect?”
Now you’re just trying to muddy the water. :)
An interesting measure of the fans’ disapproval of the NFL protests would be the tracking of jersey, cap, etc., sales, by team. Many people buy those goodies but can’t afford to attend games.
I believe a bi-weekly tracking and ranking of such sales, by team, would show a definite decline in sales for the teams that most heavily support the kneeling.
I suspect this headline will be repeated a few more times in the weeks ahead.
Especially since last night’s game involved two teams with big national followings.
NFL ratings will be down more next week.
Be sure your pressure your friends not to watch. Make that effort.
Keep in mind these ratings are on top of the slide in ratings from last year. So in that context they are massively down from the last really good year which might be 2015.
It’s not that you’re standing with Trump, it’s that he’s standing with you!
