President Trump said that a primary win by Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore will open the seat for a Democratic win during a radio appearance Monday.
Trump, who traveled to Alabama Friday to stump for Sen. Luther Strange (R-Ala.), told the syndicated "Roy & Bubba" radio show based out of Birmingham, Alabama that Democrats will pour millions of dollars into the election if their candidate goes up against Moore.
"Luther Strange is going to be a great Senator. He loves Alabama, he loves the states and he loves the country. He will absolutely win against the Democrat,” Trump said, according to Alabama.com.
“Ray will have a hard time. If Luther wins, the Democrats will hardly fight. If Ray wins (Democrats) will pour in $30 million."
Trump also initially called Moore by the wrong name during the interview, referring to him as “Ray Moore.”
When host Rick Burgess pointed out that Moore’s name is Roy, Trump responded that it’s “not a good sign" if the president doesn’t know his name.
"I don't know that much about Roy Moore. Roy Moore is going to have a very hard time getting elected against the Democrat,” Trump said. “Against Luther they won't even fight."

The disgrace in that case was that the COWARDLY Republicans didn’t defend Akin. He was not totally wrong. His position was defensible.
Does Alabama have crossover voting? If so, the Dems will all go vote for Moore, thinking they can beat him. They may be right. It’s happened before.
Trump has to lie in the bed he made when he made the deal with McConnell.
Trump also said “I may have made a mistake”, talking about supporting Strange.
Moore will win tomorrow and in November. COUNT ON IT!
If Moore wins tomorrow, which he will, Trump already said he will FIGHT for Moore.
Trump will NOT lose THIS Senate seat after causing the vacancy by appointing the disappointing Sessions to the attorney General job. “Believe me, believe me”.
Luther Strange is 64, while Roy Moore is 70. That matters for longevity. However, unless one of them says something shockingly stupid, the Senate seat will not flip this year or when one of them is replaced.
Yes, that is my only concern as well.
Trump ain’t some idiot savant, he is dependent upon the information he is given or takes in—and reportedly listened to Kushner on this, though ultimately the buck of course stops with Trump.

Trump won Alabama by about 28 points. I don’t think Moore would lose to any democrat.

Send a few more Roy Moores to the Senate, and Trump might be surprised how much of his agenda gets passed. I hear there’s going to be another opportunity in Arizona, very, very soon.
No, you misunderstood my drift. I agree with you Moore will win. When he reaches Washington he’s going to be a lightning rod and they press will want to trip him up. He needs to use the media, not let them use him.
Moore will cakewalk the primary and the general... This race was OVER the minute Moore announced he was running... Anyone who told you otherwise doesn’t know diddly about Alabama politics... even someone like myself, who only visits the state every few years for a week at a time could have told you Moore had this locked up from the get go.
Strange never had any shot. Not only that, but no Democrat is taking a statewide Senate race there anytime soon.
Moore is like Trump times 10, because he’s been taking on the swamp for decades, and he’s been removed from office at least twice for DOING THE RIGHT THING... or at least perceived by most Alabamans for doing the right thing... He stood up for the 10 commandments and was removed from office... he came back bigger and badder... he was removed from office for standing up for Marriage... and was again removed from office.... He has spend decades building the most loyal support of any politician in state wide office because he has taken on the federal ROT... and NEVER backed down.
Dems (or the GOPe) can bring in as much outside money as they want, press can demonize him all they like.. Moore will win, handily. The worst case for Moore in the primary is only winning by 5-8 points with the more likely scenario being Moore by solid double digits... Trump stumping for Strange will likely keep the Primary victory closer to the worst case for Moore, but He’ll still win it handily.... and once he does, Trump will happily campaign for him if asked, and Moore will be a far more reliable MAGA ally than any McConnell/GOPe hack ever will be.
This race, like the 2016 presidential race, was over the minute Moore announced.. just like the 2016 race was over the Minute Trump came out against illegal aliens and “free” trade.
Anyone telling you Moore will lose this, is either wholesale ignorant of Alabama politics, or openly lying to you... Strange never had a shot.

I don’t share your assessment... you see, someone like Moore, certainly will tick off the leftists, but like Trump every time they try to turn something they perceive as divisive that comes out of his mouth, it will backfire, because the majority of folks will agree with him.... it will only play as “incendiary” in the deep blue states, and in the rest of the country most folks will be reacting the same way they do every time the press tries to “gotcha” Trump.... “Awe Geeze, not this crap again”..
Left is in so much of an echo chamber, they have literally isolated themselves into islands they can’t get off of electorally anytime soon, because to get off those islands they have to back off stands they have embraced publicly to pander to various identity groups.. if they try to back off those groups will go ape crap.
I am not worried about Moore...he’s honestly the original Trump, in terms of being Moore, and he’s been in politics for decades... National press I am sure will attempt it, but Moore is going to be Moore.. and he’s very good at it.

No disagreement. I think Moore has the gravitas and street fighting skills to stay the course. There may be/will be attempts to neuter him...didn’t work with POTUS. It will be a nice change for DJT to have someone else shining some sunshine in dark corners and calling out the BS.
