Amen! And you know the owners think those who watch and attend NFL games are a perfect sample of the general population, i.e. about 40% black, 75% liberal, and at least 20% are some kind of queer. They’re just like the Hollywood elites and media talkers...

CLUELESS.

And they didn’t learn a damn thing from the last election except Muh Russia.

I watched my team win on a last second historic field goal. The game was a Philly vs NY classic but I felt no emotion and root for the NFL to fail. I never understood those who never watch again. I very well soon find better things to do with my time and never watch again. I am not that old but I am glad I lived through some great sports moments for my teams before the rotting of America’s great sports pastimes.

Who cares about entertainment? Politics is what matters. Politicization.

Trump should go on the Oscar and Emmy awards and speak for 10 minutes about why we need to build a wall. Politics is what really matters.

It’s not the NFL that’s the problem, it’s white liberals encouraging this behaviour by accepting the false paradigm of police discrimination against blacks.

Simply put, the real problem is the lack of responsibility of blacks leading to disproportionate crime statistics. What’s a policeman supposed to do, ignore the obvious?

Ironically, the NFL is a showcase of black irresponsibility itself. Odell Beckham: “so I broke the rules about celebration, we scored didn’t we?” And the sports program I was watching then dipped into the archives to show some other prime examples, for instance, Randy Moss: “I don’t care, here’s the cash.”

This has been going on too long — somebody gave a signal that it’s okay to break every rule and every law if you are a certain colour and if it makes you feel like a bad boy.

I think the NFL has tried to fight against this tendency but it’s a losing battle when the larger society accepts it and even celebrates it. What’s to celebrate? Nothing.

And there’s nothing stupider than some overpaid underperforming athlete lecturing you and me about white guilt. White people fill the stadiums and pay the salaries of these cry-babies.

Me thinks the president is a bit vindictive ... People do know he owned a professional football team. The NFL owners remember this. This is deeper than

The NFL is in the entertainment business.

Yet, when a player does something really entertaining (scoring a TD) and "excessively" celebrates, the NFL says they should receive a penalty.

The NFL believes excessive celebrations is a bad thing...yet they believe disrespecting the flag is ok, a personal choice.

Insane.

Not only should people tune out the NFL so their ratings tank, people should boycott the sponsors. One is an immediate hit on the NFL, the other is more long term (due to advertising contracts).

Usually conservatives aren't into boycotting. This is a situation where it must be done. What's happening is nothing short of a war on our culture, our flag and our country.

Money talks.

Boycotts don’t usually work.

But this one will.

“And make it a point to watch something else so the ratings shift is seen - that way they can’t use the “people are using digital devices / streaming” excuse as a cover all. That’s part of it, yes, but certainly not all of it.”

The optics are the most important element of the bunch. Don’t go to the games! You can’t bull$hit anyone about what’s happening when the stadiums are empty. And it’s also important not to just quit watching on TV, but to also cancel your viewing subscription and ask for a refund.

“Murder of Blacks and Whites in the US, 2013

Whites killed by Blacks———9.83
Whites killed by Whites——10.22

See a problem?

So you are discounting any patriotic sentiment that DJT has towards the soldiers, the police, and the national legacy — attributing all his actions to a decades long grievance against the NFL? Really???

They have been led to believe that they were disrespecting Trump - not the flag. But they were disrespecting the flag, period.

It's not just the flag or Trump they are disrespecting. It is also most whites in this nation they are disrespecting.

Do you remember the grid iron dinner? No there is a connection to the things you mention absolutely. Here comes the discounting as you put it .... However with president Trump a weird nexus of events constantly swirls around him and he is very good at capitalizing on such things. Who is the one person who understands the ins and outs of the NFL antitrust exemption. How it can be defeated court . This same person understands desire has his finger on the pulse of America is the president and yes might have an axe to grind with the NFL - cheerfully, like paybacks a bitch style. Hubris arrogance and laziness are all the NFL has just like HRC the result will be the same. One of the reasons trump is effective is because he can spot those characteristics and is a little mean. Further he capitalizes on large events to cause a stir getting people into tizzy. It’s this tiizzified state of mind that causes people to start thinking for real on their own. Voila another trumpist??? Gets their wings. Yeah it’s really a lot deeper than the surface. With president Trump that often IDs the case
