An apology to the fans for destroying the sport would have been an appropriate response.

The owners should be able to do the math. They are currently collectivly losing 100sM if not Bs of dollars and they see Goodel boo’d at various public appearances — he’s gone.

The added benefit is that this is seriously impacting a major revenue stream for the establishment club.

>>Divisive comments like these demonstrate an unfortunate lack of respect for the NFL

As Americans, we do not have to “respect” a particular business, but the business has an obligation to not bite the hand that feeds it.

Screw the NFL and their millionaire thug players who think that America is unfair to them.

So, Roger, disrespecting the flag is OK, but honoring the fallen from 911 is fineable?

OK, Goodell.

Buh-bye, NFL. I always preferred the NHL anyway...

Hey Rog!

“unfortunate lack of respect for the NFL”????

What about your self-important players lack of respect for AMERICA?

Have you no sense of priorities in life?

Trump is calling out the PROBLEM that you have decided to ignore.

“all the good the players do” is COMPLETELY offset by this repeated bad behavior!

A solid majority of NFL fans voted for and very much like President Trump. Going to war with Trump is not a smart play on the part of the NFL. I guarantee you that there are at least some team owners who do not like this. It is bad business.

This could be a backhanded rebuke of just that sort of misbehavior.

Trump has cornered Goodel into having to play the diplomat. Goodel disavows the remarks while being forced to implicitly condemn the NFL misbehavior. Sauce for goose is sauce for gander.

It’s cheap and petty to dis the country. It isn’t that way to boost the solution.

Dear Commissioner Goodell:

Thank you for standing up to that racist, sexist, nationalist, misogynist, white supremacist Russian agent in the White House.

Sincerely,

Hillary Clinton

P.S. -- After the NFL goes down in flames and you lose your ass like I did, please note that when you write your memoirs, the title What Happened has already been taken.

"Divisive comments like these demonstrate an unfortunate lack of respect for the NFL"

Divisive antics like sitting during the National Anthem demonstrate an unfortunate lack of respect for our country, the American people, and those that died for our freedom. FURG.

There’s a painful, tearing tension there. And I hope it dawns on Goodell that sauce for goose is sauce for gander.

But as for “completely offset” — well, I’d expect to see the NFL entirely out of business if that were the case. And it glaringly isn’t.

It wasn’t anything he tweeted. He was at the Luther Strange campaign rally last night and he suggested that NFL fans should walk out of the stadium if players don’t show respect for our country. LMAO.

Sorry Roger, your white guilt and lack of a spine are pitiful! Also, do you have even one testicle?

The multimillionaire spoiled brat BLACKS in the NFL are ungrateful anti-white racists. They all make me want to vomit.

I have no empathy for these thugs—most of whom would probably be in PRISON if they weren’t playing football.

I am cheering on the NFL death spiral, may the NFL crash and burn sooner rather than later.

What does corporate NFL contributions to disaster relief have to do with racist black players disrespecting the National Anthem on live TV?

... said Roger Goodell, as he adjusted his pink ribbon.

The NFL created this stupid scenario by getting involved in social issues in the first place. We don't need the NFL to save hurricane victims much less cure breast cancer. Just shut up and play football.

Class scenario of how businesses lose focus and fizzle away.

And yet can we look at it from another viewpoint.

Maybe the assertion of the sitters is that the nation has become so venal, so carnally minded, that all it’s good for is the amassing of quickly dissipated fortunes.

Who’s going to “stand” for making America great?
