WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump and South Korean President Moon Jae-in agreed to strengthen their defense posture amid rising tensions with North Korea, the White House said on Friday.

Trump and Moon, who met on Thursday, committed to strengthen their "combined defense posture, including through South Korea’s acquisition and development of highly advanced military assets" and "agreed to the enhanced deployment of U.S. strategic assets in and around South Korea on a rotational basis," the White House said in a statement....

As step to show seriousness, should call home US dependents from South Korea. Also, should follow French lead and suggest moving the 2018 Olympics, maybe to the US?

Amazing how a dose of reality can kick the liberals/socialists like Moon in the butt...

This says Moon is not smart enough to allow the US to base nukes on South Korean territory.

Only a “regular rotation of strategic assets”...in other words, the Trident deterrent.

While the Trident boats are formidable, it’s not the same as having “strategic assets” on your own soil.

It’s of benefit to the US too, as some future POTUS could decline a nuclear war if South Korea were overrun.

Like the cowardly pussies they are.

Why would we send a Trident-armed SSBN to a port in South Korea? I think they mean B-1s and other nuclear-capable aircraft. Do we still have nuclear artillery?

We would never surface a Trident boat anywhere but Bangor, Washington in the Pacific fleet, Kings Bay Georgia for Lantflt.

But there is always at least one Trident boat on patrol in the Northern Pacific.

Always.

And we always have the ability to get EAM launch orders to them.

Always.

B-1’s are not nuke enabled, by Treaty with Russia. As far as I know only the B-52 is allowed by treaty (for long range strategic bombers as a class).

Of course each F-35 can carry two of those B-61 or B-83 nukes. They would force a new word into Norklandian language:

“Megatonnage”.

The most surprising thing is that “US News and World Reports” is still around.
