Ann Coulter: If we aren't getting a wall, we may as well have an attractive, dignified Republican
Washington Examiner ^ | 09/20/2017 | Mandy Mayfield

Ann Coulter said Wednesday that she would prefer Vice President Mike Pence over President Trump because Trump is failing to build his promised wall on the U.S.-Mexico border.

"If we are not getting a wall, we might as well have a, you know, attractive, dignified Republican there, Coulter said on Newsmax TV.

Coulter is the author of In Trump We Trust but she has turned on Trump in the last few weeks, and said Pence is now a "better option." Coulter railed against Trump after Democrats reported they had a deal with the White House to pass legislation protecting immigrants to came to America illegally as children, and said they wouldn't accept funding for the border wall as part of that deal.

Coulter added that Pence would pick "better" Supreme Court justices and that people wouldn't have to worry about Nikki Haley becoming a justice if he were president.

The conservative commentator has also said she wants Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., to "primary Trump in 2020."

If Ann would use her crap against Ryan/McConnell and those who are stopping Trump from doing what he promised 9along with a whole lot of FReepers) maybe something would improve.

The more folks opt to browbeat Trump instead of castigating/flaying the real problems, the more they support the real problems.

Ironic that so many who are supposedly so smart can collectively act so stupid.

Same, her rants on Facebook made me remove her. Does she really think Trump could undo a mess created in 30 years in just a few months???

To me, the mess started in 1948 when the SCOTUS gave "separation of church and state" its "new and improved" meaning: that atheism and hostility to religion would have the same protection under law as the "natural law" intended by our Founders. Jump to the late 60s, when birth control devices were promoted by SCOTUS, and the early 70s with Roe v Wade. What followed was an avalanche of SCOTUS decisions dismantling traditional family relations and establishing the marxist religion: sexual hedonism and perversion.

This technique now prevalent in our educational system of demoralizing the population by teaching children about anti-procreative, anti-family sexual expression was first deployed by the Soviet Union during the last century in the government schools of the eastern bloc, to help the USSR take these Catholic and Orthodox nations over and make them communist.

Am I the only Freeper that thinks a deal with shumer and Pelosi could never be about reducing spending, limited government and anti-amnesty?

Well there will an election in 2020. If it appears that The Wall promise has not been kept, then Trump will lose.

But this bitter, Romney-loving crone is not adding any value with these comments.

Sections of the wall are being built. If Coulter wants to blame anyone she should blame her friends in the GOPe for not funding it. Fund it and it will be built. 8 months into his term is a bit premature to accuse Trump of not keeping his promise. Plenty of time for more winning...

Reference to her hair had nothing whatsoever to do with her sexual preference; only that she constantly ‘fiddles’ with it as she speaks, tossing it around like a horse’s mane, twisting it around her finger. No mater which way she may blow, what is seen is STILL irritating and distracting.

I heard this b*tch recently on talk radio.

Besides wanting to primary Trump, she still defends Mitt Romney!

What a freakin’ loon!

I wonder if Ann was hoping for a cushy spot in the Trump administration in some kind of communication spot...and wasn't even asked...resulting in bitterness and backlash.

Well, Trump picked Pence and all the others, so what does that say about him?

It says that after 100 years of ever more liberal government since Woodrow Wilson, and after the Frankfurt School got done inflltrating our universities and schools since WWII, good people with experience are slim pickings.

Praying for a new crop of young conservatives to run for office and work in government agencies. Trump campaign volunteers I have encountered who have the skills and who received political appointments to various government agencies say that they have constant annoyance, sneering and recalcitrance from the entrenched Swamp holdovers in permanent positions in their offices.

Full disclosure: I voted for Minion in 2012, thinking Zero was the worst possible thing we could endure. But Coulter was hawking Minion at CPAC the PREVIOUS year when there were many solid conservatives to choose from. I have never trusted her since.

As with Trump, or anyone for that matter, I don't necessarily have to agree 100% in order to continue giving someone the benefit of the doubt in view of their longer track record. Coulter's value to me is that her analyses of vast social movements and the way she often crystallizes and labels the motivations of the American left are quite prophetic. She is frequently the one who first widely popularizes a concept such as "liberalism is a religion" (Godless: The Church of Liberalism, 2006), only to see her concept swiped by many, many other commentators without attribution. Her book Demonic (2011) drew very clear parallels between the mob rule instincts of the left and the history of the French Revolution, years before BLM and Antifa hit the streets; she was developing it even before Occupy hit the streets. Her book ¡Adios America! in the year before the campaign was a point-for-point review of the ways the illegal immigration problem hads been destroying the American middle class in words ordinary people could relate to; and in my observation, that book greatly influenced Trump's opening campaign. It must gall her that she is not attributed as an advisor to him.

While it goes without saying that serious commentators may have made similar assertions in prior months or years, she has had a special gift for hammering out, packaging and popularizing her themes to a wide audience.

That said, she is terrible at picking candidates or assessing individuals and needs to stop even trying.

Her own undisciplined emotions, misleading use of hyperbolic sarcasm and impulsive snarking are damaging her worth as a predictive force and definer of the conservative "narrative", and that's a shame.

“If we are not getting a wall, we might as well have an attractive, dignified Republican there.”

If Ann Coulter is going to be anti-Trump, conservatives may as well get a new blonde that’s young, hot and has no Adam’s apple.
