Less than a quarter of Republicans in Congress actually voice support funding for President Donald Trumps wall along the U.S.-Mexico border, a new survey by USA Today said Wednesday.
The USA Today poll asked all members of Congress if they approved an initial $1.6 billion in funding to begin construction of a wall
According to the survey, only 69 of 292 GOP legislators responded that they approve of the plan. Three Sen. Jeff Flake, R-Ariz.; Rep. Steve Pearce, R-N.M.; and Rep. Will Hurd, R-Texas said they oppose it. The rest didnt directly answer the question, or simply didnt respond.
USA Today said the survey was conducted by contacting all House and Senate offices.

In the words of Senator Byrd,, These three need to be gone Gone GONE!!! Border state voters that have reps like this would do well to take note.
Our NM Congressman Steve Pearce has always been against the wall, he claims it will not work. He wants technology and more manpower used to secure the border. I am not a Steve Pearce fan, though he talks conservative. In my opinion he is just a politician. He promises a lot and delivers little or nothing. He comes down here all the time and glad hands all the ranchers on the border. Most of them think he is great just because he will talk to them and most politicians cannot be bothered to come down here.
He is wrong about technology, it has already been tested more than once and fails in this environment and because the border is so remote it is all but impossible to get anyone to work on it.
Pearce is running for governor and he may be against the wall hoping it will help him win over some Democrats that he would need to win.
We need to flood their offices with calls and emails to be sure that they understand that we expect them to support the wall.
The K Street boys walking in lock step.
The Republican Party is without value.
Not unlike Rolling Stone magazine, they fouled their nest just as time was passing them by.
Let’s remove ALL of them from Congress.
All of them.
Well, it is correct insofar as it being the conclusion of the pollsters in question.
Investigate them first. If, as is likely, they are taking money from Soros and the Chamber of Commerce, is every dime legal? If not, lock them up!
And the ones that said they are for it are lying.
with respect to those DC elected officials and on that point alone, it separates the traitors from the patriots. This goes without saying but what the heck, the biggest threat to the security and future of this country lies with the traitors operating inside the US government.
Fixed it.
Fixed it More.
Out of touch with their own base.
We knew this already. Up until two years ago, opposition to illegal immigration among conservatives was a mile wide and an inch deep. Over and over, we saw conservatives who claimed to be against illegal immigration totally ignore the issue when they cast votes. We have a chance to rectify this in 2018.
Should not cost 1.4 BILLION either....p>That’s baloney!!
The figure was $1.6 billion, but that’s just a down-payment.
It is going to cost somewhere between $10 and $20 billion.
If we look at our costs for illegal aliens each year, that number is dwarfed.
It’s also helpful to know that $20 billion is 0.0056% of one year’s federal budget.
It is something like 0.00111% of a five year federal budget plan.
I think a fee will be imposed on money transfers to Mexico and perhaps a few other nations where illegals come from, and that will pay for the wall.
FWIW-
I’m not sure how many miles of wall will be built, or how extravagant the wall will be.
Several thousand miles of 30’ wall, would seem to indicate a pretty massive cost.
Perhaps it will come in a lot lower than we think.
75% pond scum.
What a twisting of facts!
69 favor the wall and 3 oppose, so only 4% of the respondents oppose a wall.
The article clearly states all others didn’t answer the question or refused to. Dumbass reporter or editor interprets those as “oppose”.
