MEXICO CITY (AP) -- A powerful earthquake jolted Mexico City on Tuesday, causing buildings to sway sickeningly on the anniversary of a 1985 quake that did major damage to the capital. The extent of damage or injuries was not immediately clear, but people fled office buildings along the central Reforma Avenue. Mexico's seismological agency calculated its preliminary magnitude at 6.8 and said its center was east of the city in the state of Puebla. Pictures fell from walls and objects were shaken off of flat surfaces. Some people dove for cover under desks. Earlier in the day buildings across the city held preparation drills on the anniversary of the 1985 quake.

And yeah, you are probably right.
Mexico City was hit by a big quake not that long ago. I think that one took down the most poorly constructed structures.
Quick somebody sacrifice a virgin!
No, Russian Collusion.
DRUDGE now has it at 7.1...
This could be an aftershock to the 8.1 that recently jolted the area?
Hillary hit the tarmac again?
I believe that happened in all the islamic countries with the pretty goats last night.
If only we had gone ahead and given those 2 billion dollars to those socialists in Paris, these disasters would never have happened.
It is interesting to me, that liberals see these types of catastrophes as evidence of climate change, rather than seeing them as, a) God trying to get mankind’s attention,(God forbid I should, however, blame God for a thing He did not do, but did allow) b) signs of the end times, or c) natural occurrences related to an aging earth, which, despite all efforts by liberals, the Bible teaches will one day be destroyed by fire. (And for those who think it cruel or blasphemous to say God may use these things to get our attention, Jesus did say there would be earthquakes. And besides, ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God. There is not one among us who has ANY righteousness, except that which we have obtained from Jesus. Though I will concede that in the OT, the righteous were usually removed out of harm’s way. But then, that can also be seen as a type of the salvation we receive from Jesus.)
Roughly the same depth as the 8+ last week but not near the coast
3.5 earthquake about 15 mins ago between Ridgecrest and Lone Pine in eastern California.
Mexico City is built on a dried up lake bed...and in close proximity to the active volcano Popocatépetl.
Thanks for the link.

Don’t like hearing about tremors down that way. Not wild about them in general, but particularly not headed toward Cape Girardeau and Reelfoot Lake. I guess I could take it as a positive meaning pressure is being released from the fault.
bookmarking for later.
Seems to be the best map for viewing quake locations. The USGS site is really messed up from when they changed it a few years back.

“Global warming?”
They’ll blame it on that and Trump.
I don’t know. It’s pretty far away.
