Actually, this is a committee to investigate President Trump, his associates, his family and his campaign and to bring them all down.

Anyone remember how the Soviet Union operated during the height of its reign of terror as portrayed in the epic movie, "Dr. Zhivago"?

In Soviet typical local neighborhoods, there was a group head and around 30 or so "group leaders" who kept neighborhoods in line, dug up dirt on the locals, lined up informers, broke into homes at will, enforced communist policies, made false, unsubstantiated charges, investigated "suspect" fellow-citizens and set up their own kangaroo courts to investigate them.....and then to bring them in for a "hearing"......followed by local censure and punishment. If they felt the charges were much more serious, the "committee" sent the info it had amassed on to regular soviet legal authorities higher in the chain.

Does this "committee" being set up by Reiner and his "citizens committee" ring a bell with anyone?

While the historic comparisons have some validity there is some major differences.

In Soviet Union they were pushing around unarmed peasants.

Reiner and his ilk will to going up against citizens with weaponry that would make the most harden Stalinist shake in their boots

Reiner is afraid of second hand smoke so I doubt he'll be much of a threat.
