The last of my brakes were gone upon reaching ground-level in Austria....I actually drove another four hours onto central-Germany with zero pads.
Had an old '51 Chevy pickup I was driving from Arizona to Idaho. Went through the Hoover Dam, and found out my brakes finally wore in to the shape of the drums. Talk about soiling undies headed toward Lake Meade with no pedal. Pumped them up hard, and fast, then downshifted and used the e-brake as much as possible. Stopped at the bottom for a bit, then drove on through. Had to top off the fluid, and get new tighty-whities in Vegas.
