GBI: Georgia Tech student called 911 before shooting

UPDATE: Georgia Tech student Scout Schultz called 911 before being shot by campus police, the GBI reports.

Schultz called 911 alerting them “of a suspicious person on campus. In the call, Shultz describes the person as a white male, with long blonde hair, white T-shirt and blue jeans who is possibly intoxicated, holding a knife and possibly armed with a gun on his hip,” the GBI said in a statement.

***
Three suicide notes were located in Schultz’s dorm room. Two years ago, Schultz attempted suicide using a belt, the 21-year-old engineering student’s mother told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Schultz was armed only with a multi-purpose tool that contained a knife. The blade was not extended. Schultz can be heard on video telling police to shoot before one of four officers fired a fatal bullet to the chest.

The attorney for the parents of a Georgia Tech student shot dead by campus police late Saturday night said the family plans to file a civil suit against the university for an incident they say should’ve never happened.

***
Scout Schulz was president of Georgia Tech’s Pride Alliance, a student organization for LGBTQIA students and their allies.

The parents could not wait to get in line for a government payout. Sometimes it is not hard to see how even very bright kids can go so completely wrong.

At the AJC, of course, faithful Democrat readers (?) are filling the comboxes with hateful attacks on the police.

When I lived in Georgia, the paper was frequently referred to as the "Atlanta Urinal Constipation". I suspect not much has changed.

So he is mentally ill, commits “suicide by cop”, and then his parents immediately are talking about suing.

Liberal thinkin’ for ya....

I'm curious...what kind of markes did "it" get in engineering?

Georgia Tech is a good engineering school.

The kid was apparently brilliant. He was at Tech on full scholarship and got mostly A’s. But he was obviously (to everyone but the LGBT . . . God-knows-what community) completely insane.

Struggled with the whole “insert tab A into slot B” concept.

It is hard raising a fruit today. They failed as parents so they have to blame someone. Classic quilt transference.

Reminds me of a great movie scene involving an engineer-turned-Wall Street banker who still kept his old skills honed (Note: F-bomb near the end) ...

"Do you know I built a bridge once?" (Margin Call)

LOL.

Suicide has long been the number one cause of death among homosexuals. Homosexuals often have a lot of other mental problems beyond just being homosexual.

If Bill and Hillary Clinton had a son, would he "look a lot like" Schultz? Would the officers have acted "foolishly" defending themselves? Is there truly "no reason for a transgender ban" in the military?

So, so, so glad Hillary is not POTUS.

But... but... if we'd just give them gay marriage, all will be sweetness and light!

“Scout Schulz was president of Georgia Tech’s Pride Alliance”

He was a gayboy Scout before it was common. What a hipster.

So he called 911, gave a description of himself as a suspicious person, and we’re supposed to think this was something other than suicide by cop?

Obviously a deeply troubled young man. It's a pity he was unable to find help, and a shame that he chose to end his life by forcing a police officer to shoot him.

How, exactly did “force” the cop to shoot him? Are you saying he took over this cop’s mind?
