Haley: North Korea ‘will be destroyed’ if keeps up reckless conduct
Long Island Newsday ^ | September 17, 2017 | Emily Ngo and David M. Schwartz

Trump administration officials on Sunday reiterated the United States’ readiness to exercise military options if North Korea keeps up its provocative behavior, speaking after the rogue nation fired another missile over Japan and as world leaders convene for the United Nations General Assembly.

But they stressed that they are still seeking to bring the regime of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un to the negotiating table.

“We all know that basically if North Korea keeps on with this reckless behavior, if the United States has to defend itself or defend its allies in any way, North Korea will be destroyed,” said Nikki Haley, U.S. ambassador to the UN. “And we all know that. And none of us want that. None of us want war.”

Speaking of Defense Secretary James Mattis, Haley added in her remarks on CNN’s “State of the Union”: “I am perfectly happy taking this over to General Mattis because he has plenty of military options.”

“If our diplomatic efforts fail though, our military option will be the only one left,” Secretary of State Rex Tillerson told CBS News’ “Face the Nation.”

Late last week, North Korea launched another ballistic missile over Japan’s airspace.

President Donald Trump on Sunday morning assigned Kim a nickname in response.

“I spoke with President Moon of South Korea last night. Asked him how Rocket Man is doing. Long gas lines forming in North Korea. Too bad!” he tweeted.

Trump and South Korean President Moon Jae-in discussed North Korea’s nuclear aspirations, agreeing that Pyongyang continues to defy the international community, according to the White House.

Trump and Moon will meet during the General Assembly, a stage of international diplomacy from which Trump is scheduled to deliver a major address on Tuesday. It will be his first appearance before that body....

That ain’t even close to the newest secret weapon. Those would make most world leaders soil themselves.

When did we have stealth? When did we unveil it? Just saying it is time to reign in the rest of the world. I know about some of the newer stuff but project thor needs a target and an example made.

If ROKs look like ROKs looked in Vietnam when I was there in 68-9 then that butter is gonna be granite. The ROKS had a rep among the VC about like the Turks had in Korea in 1951. The Commies really didn’t want to mess with them. If Kim were to try it he would not use his infantry to invade until his artillery and maybe a couple of nukes have ended opposition. He would use infiltrators and whoever he already has on the ground in SK to mix stuff up and do assassinations. I don’t think the NK artillery is going to be nearly as effective as it is advertised. It will be neutralized as soon as hostilities commence. We have the ordnance for doing that and I am sure the SKs have it, too.

They would have bombed weeks ago, except that Seoul, South Korea is only 35 miles from the border with North Korea. North Korea has at least 15,000 cannons and rocket launchers aimed at Seoul which can be launched in 4 minutes.

11 million people in Seoul; the heart of South Korea. (North Korea in total only has 25 million and an army of 1 million.)

Really complicates things. Have to hit those cannons and rocket launchers first (or same time) to avoid devastation to millions of South Koreans. This is the real issue.

That would be a more efficient resolution than igniting the entire northern hemisphere.

Love those inertial high speed tungsten rods. But those who designed the concept concede that the amount of fuel needed to place them in orbit and send them down crashing at speed required to do the kind of damage predicted is way to huge and prohibitively expensive.

See The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress by Heinlein and also the sci-fi works of Jerry Pournelle.

I can see my house from Russia!

But you won’t hear the comedy crowd on tv touch Hillary for that faux pas.

Frankly, I am tired of our talk. I’m not saying we should immediately take action; I do not know what is going on behind the scenes. But our threats, warnings ad nauseum is not getting us anywhere.

If we have a line drawn and they haven’t crossed it yet, then we wait. If Kimmie has crossed it, we should take action.

In the meantime, SHUT UP!

I heard a fox “democratic spokesperson” actually come after Hillary this weekend. She’s starting to hurt them and we might see them start belittling her in the near future if she doesn’t find a way to shut up.

Not over foreign policy, though, because that would make the dems look stupid for ever supporting her.

I suspect it will be the emails and the primary that will be their targets against her
