North of Dallas would be best... Why you wanna inflict all them libs on us? Dallas County is already blue, and Collin County has gone purple.
Bringing Amazon here would be a mixed blessing.

I think Denver is bidding on this too.

Sorry to disappoint you, but my 25 mile commute from Irving to Fort Worth usually takes 30 minutes.
Our infrastructure is hard pressed to keep up with the influx of economic refugees from your state of New York, California, and others. DFW adds about 150,000 new residents every year.

San Antonio. Liberal, but still in Texas. Houston might have had a chance, but Harvey will be a consideration.

sounds like a horrible commute add in parking and additional BS and you are back to the time wasting 65 minutes of most ex-urban dwellers

One of my former software developer employees left my company and went to work at Amazon in Seattle. He quietly returned to San Diego and brought his software development group along. They are buying a huge amount of corporate real estate in San Diego to continue the expansion.

Reading through the article brings a pretty good laugh. The Amazon office space is being leased in the Campus Point area. Very likely the very same buildings my company vacated. My former employee returns to his old stomping grounds with a new company.

Wait, I thought Bezos liked taxes.

After more careful reading, the building is the former Qualcomm/Kyocera facilities vacated when Qualcomm decided to get out of the business of manufacturing a complete cellphone device. I knew many employees in that building and used their products in some of my embedded systems. The building has gone through a major renovation in the last few years.

I think Austin is the best bet too, but still below a 50% probability.
I also hope it goes elsewhere. A large leftest employer is the last thing we need.

Denver is in the contest and has lots of land between the airport and downtown.

Texas Seems Primed to Land Amazons Second Headquarters: But the Competition is Tough...interesting - nephew is working with a group looking to bring HQ2 to the south Jersey area - he says it's pretty well acknowledged that it's going to be located somewhere between mid-Virginia and Boston - just sayin'..........

I’d done some speculation off the top of my head that they’d want east coast just to get the best national reach out of a 2nd headquarters, and thought they’d be looking for a somewhat pro-business state but one that wouldn’t trigger their SJW corporate mindset so not too red. Thought they’d probably prefer to be in a decent sized port city, too. I came up with the Tidewater region of Virginia.

Closer to what’s going to happen than Texas, I’m guessing.....
