These gentlemen probably found this pole in the street and loaded it to prevent somebody from running into it and causing an accident.
They were on their way to the closest utility yard to return it when they were stopped by the police.
It could have happened that way.
Jesus, the pole is round. It could have been rolled to the side of the road parallel to the curb where it would not have posed a danger to anyone.
Even as sarcasm this is weak.
And BTW, maybe the two shirtless dudes at the curb are bi-lingual. Or speak Arabic.
