Liberal Groups Push Democrats To Slow Down Judge Confirmation Process

A coalition of major progressive organizations has launched a campaign aimed at pressuring members of the Senate Judiciary Committee to slow down the confirmation process for federal judges, thereby limiting how many President Donald Trump can seat.

“Tell the Senate Judiciary Committee: No lifetime judicial appointments for a white supremacist in chief with no respect for the Constitution or the rule of law,” Credo, one of the groups leading the charge, told activists.

The coalition ― which also includes Democracy for America, Color of Change and UltraViolet ― plans to deliver petition signatures to Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and ranking member Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) sometime next week. The groups started their campaign on Wednesday, and expect to collect hundreds of thousands of signatures.

The US Senate needs to eliminate rules that allow arbitrary delays. Now that we did it for the US Supreme Court, those rules will disappear anyways once the thugs regain power. We might as well streamline the process today.

"Subversives can always be counted upon to be subversives."

Traitorous Demonicrats in the Senate can always be counted on to be traitors.

And gutless coward Republicans in the Senate can always be counted on to be gutless cowards.

The judiciary has been the Dems’ 50 lb crowbar for almost a century. They know its value to their cause, and will not release it without a great fight.

So, fight. These cretin repubs need to get an infusion of testosterone. No quarter in this battle. However, the unfortunate reality is that the repubs are flaccid quislings on most matters. These capons seem to like it. Losers.

We have to keep them distracted with the other shiny objects so we can win here at the federal bench.

Trump could replace 1/2 of the bench and reorg 2 districts. The 9th, in particular...

Maybe Melania could wear white after Labor Day and irritate the fashion mavens.

The left is terrified that they are losing one of their main tools for enacting policy.

If it wasn’t for rule by judicial fiat, the left wouldn’t have any power.

They run 2 branches of government all the time.

Purposefully delaying the work of the people, how very democratic of them. Obstructionism at it best. I bet this will be on the front page of every newspaper in the US of A!

This is going to make peaceful coexistanced with Democrats impossible once they retake the white house and the senate.

Thier judges have the unfortunate habit of being politicians in black robes, and not giving a rats about the written law.

Trying to appoint decent honest Judges is appalling to the Democrats. They much prefer Homo oriented latino/a judges
