Uh, how about NO! In fact, since some of my kin folk joined the Union Army from upstate New York, I'm pretty certain someone owes ME for helping to free the slaves. So, pony up assclowns. Oh, and transportation costs from Africa as well, even though we owned none as far as I can find or sailed any of the ships back and forth. Guilt feelings? ZIP!

Yeah - right after Black Americans face up to theirs... and then La Raza and...
It seems to me that asians, Polynesians and Indians and even hispanics have no problem succeeding in America.
And as for the fake notion of “white privilege” - look at all the white people in trailer parks.
Begone from me you racist bigots - I tire of you.

It’s ironic that at the end of the Civil War, Lincoln and many of the Union and Southern Generals urged their populations to put the war behind them and forgive each other.

Anyone who watches Gone with the Wind and thinks it glorifies the South has not watched the Movie. Scarlett does not come out smelling of Roses nor does Ashley.

I am getting so f’g sick of that shit. My ancestors immigrated from Prussia (really Poland) in the 1870s, they never owned slaves.
But because I am white I am somehow responsible for slavery?
And tell how when my high school promoted a black guy to attend West Point over me, he flunked out of school, I graduated, where is that fair?
So my white ancestors had nothing to do with US Slavery, but now because I am white I am responsible? My white privilege got me 2nd place, I do see where I stopped anyone from getting anything.

When watching Gone With the Wind, white audiences today who are willing to examine their racist failings must also examine how they specifically propagate the mythology that upholds white supremacy,"White audiences are racist", she says.
Well, I'm white and I'm not racist. So that makes her comment racist.

I look at the civilization around me and its roots and the only mythology I can find is the myth of cultural equivalence. How many more thousands of years would it have taken for Africa, North America, or South America to have built the equivalent of a 17th century Venice if the Europeans (or alternately, Asians) had not shown up to bring civilization to them?

What's interesting to me is that such claims are nearly always made by whites - white liberals, to be exact. There are a handful of black leftists who demand all this and more, but my personal experience is that most blacks couldn't care less about white people "examining their racist failings". This doesn't even account for all of the Hispanics, Asians and other ethnic groups in the US who also couldn't seem to care less about such things.
Nope, it's always the white liberals who seem determined to inflict the unhinged guilt they feel on everyone else instead of seeking psychiatric help to resolve their obvious emotional issues.

Not nearly as insulting as the NFL telling their fans that they’re racists (by not stopping the National Anthem crap), since, as they’re learning, something like 98% of the are white, and most of those whites are not the kind of people that enjoy being called racist.
In this case, while their audience is certainly white, they are also Leftists. But even so, there is a limit...and NY Magazine should be surprised if they find a bunch of cancellations hitting them.
