Zone A under mandatory evacuation. How close is she to that?
Looks like Jose will take care of whatever is left in Barbuda...
In Tampa as well. I’m riding it out. If you are not in a evacuation zone and in a well-built home (not a mobile/manufactured home, etc) you are fine where you are. The reasonable expectation is 80-100 mph gusts with some damage and likely power outage for 2-3 days.
Leaving at this point, with the traffic and gas situations being what they area, is not a great idea. If anything, have them go to a local shelter if they are not comfortable with their situation.
Praise God!!
Let us know how the Chinese food is/was :)
Tell your sister to BOUNCE.
Here is a website that is full of charts, graphs, sat photos and many links to other sites.

I know it says beaumont weather but believe me, it has everything to do about the gulf and atlantic
She's in zone B.
NO But the point is it made a radical turn out of the GULF side of FLA and didn’t hit NOLA or MISS etc
You do realize that those who are doing the storm forecasting are METEOROLOGISTS and NOT the ones trying to line AL Gore's pockets?
The biggest global warming proponents are NOT real meteorologists. They are leftists and liberals and politicians.
Welcome to Gwinnett County.
You are not very far away from me.
There are still trailers in the keys but fewer every year, average price of homes in Islamorada close to 500k.
How close is she to the water?
Hooray! Answered prayers.
Does that mean leave?
So this is the best sit-rep map available to decide whether to bug out or not so thanks for posting.
I can deal with 90 MPH in Miami.
Yes.
If it does, I doubt it will make it into anything significant.
Irma and Jose have sucked so much heat out of the Atlantic Ocean so far, that the water is MUCH cooler.
Atmospheric conditions have to be much more perfect for any hurricane to really turn into something.
Yes, in inner-city terms :-)
I hope she has evacuated from her mobile home.
If Irma gets into the Gulf, it will NOT weaken.
The water in the Gulf is way too warm for that to happen.
