My 2 SILs both live in the Philadelphia area and are both bent out of shape that we didn’t just pack the kids up in the car and take a “vacation” up to see them. In my Lincoln Navigator that gets 12 MPG on a good day. I wouldn’t even make it out of the state from Clearwater at that rate.

In that sat image we are seeing the increase in water vapor diameter of the storm, not necessarily in wind speed or pressure drop.
It does however indicate how much water vapor is in the hurricane’s storm clouds — this is increasing from the warmer strait waters, IMHO

Speak of dogs my 2 labs have been really subdued today. They want to stay near me and seem to not want to move much. They prefer enclosed areas. Neither wants to run or play.
