I’m going to trust Trump on this. He has not let me down yet. Undoing everything Obama did has been just a joy to watch. Always two moves ahead of people, President Trump knows what needs to be done. He also is very aware of what his base wants and thinks.

You need to take your head out.
No wall.
Obamacare still rules.
If you think a Reagan style tax cut will happen, well good luck with that.
No civil rights protections for patriots being attacked.
True Conservatives banished from the Administration.
Most all accomplishments reversible by a stroke of the pen.
Aside from Nikki Haley all appointees either mediocre or atrocious.
First year of term, when most accomplishments are achieved, basically over.

We are being played.

I’m with you. One of the big problems with DACA AND with the whole witch-hunt against Sheriff Joe is that Obama singlehandedly tried to undo the separation of powers. He claimed that the executive branch had the right to legislate rather than simply carry out the legislation passed in the Constitutional way. Trump’s actions are to get our Constitutional balance of powers back, and that is the proper thing to do.

Of course, he wouldn’t have to delay the end of DACA to do that, but by giving Congress the time to legislate a DACA provision, he’s letting everybody know that it is not Trump’s job to decide American immigration policy; it is Congress’. And they have already done that. POTUS can’t just decide not to obey the law, as Obama did.

Trump’s biggest challenge is to reinstate the Constitution, after it has been trampled for at least 8 years. Not a small task, but the necessary one if we’re to get the Republic back, rather than just go back and forth between democrat and republican lawless tyrants. We HAVE to have the checks and balances back, if this republic is to survive. It is an existential issue - the biggest existential issue this nation faces. If we can’t make every branch of government AND the bureaucracy behind those branches actually LEGALLY ACCOUNTABLE to the rule of law, then the US is history.

I trust him as well.

I think this is just his way of mocking the inability of Congress to actually get anything done. Look at the indignation from them when he threw the whole issue on their laps - insisting that he must be “involved” (which, to those losers, means they can weasel out of any responsibility for anything they do or don’t do). So... he’s threatening to become “involved” by doing something they wouldn’t want him to do.

The problem is that part of his base wants these illegals gone, the other part wants their labor—cheap, or skilled and learned by using the US education system. Thus, why kick out people we paid to educate who are now doing useful jobs and by DACA rules paying Social Security.
