Perhaps they could heed Trump’s element of surprise advise & not Telegraph their military plans.

South Korea has pledged to develop...
Bwahahahahah! By the time it is placed in service, if it ever is, this whole shebang will have been over a long time.

So the North Koreans are just like goblins streaming out of the depths of the mines of Moria, like in Lord of the Rings?
I suppose we should call them NORCs now.

Could be misdirection just like on D-Day where we fooled the Germans into thinking we were going to come in at pas de Calais.

I believe we did. But the projection was for the invasions to take place at another location — A rather devious leak.

My first thought, too. Just a wee bit lat ego develop such a weapon, huh?
Furthermore, SK will loft a 2 ton warhead to the north while NK is shooting 50,000 warheads south. I’m no weapons expert, but I do recall 50,000 is a heap bigger than 2.

The Norks have thermonuclear weapons now. There is no conventional weapon that comes anywhere close to matching that destructive power. check out
Nuke Map to get an idea of what megaton weapons do. the only way to win is to strike first and strike so hard that they can't possibly deploy their own devices.

I’m in favor of launching everything we got at them and then nuking them from space... Just to be sure.
Let them be an example of what happens when you threaten America and it’s allies.
It will be real cofveve.

Whatever happened to our tactical nukes? Didn’t B.O. get rid of them? Weapon of choice in this situation.

Not all that tough as we have already been doing it on a different scale in the mountains of Afghanistan. Shoot a delayed fused projectile into the opening and when it goes off inside the shaft, it sucks all of the oxygen out of it to feed the explosion. Now, develop the same thing but instead of a flaming explosion, set off a charge to release a large container of halon. Far more effective at sucking all of the oxygen at the same time not allowing anything the opportunity to ignite.
Just clean out the chord wood and turn their own weapons around on them.

“South Korea has pledged to develop”
Seems a bit late to pledge to develop something at this point.
