I would be more interested in previous presidents going way back rather than the last few.
“Letters from the Presidents” - I don’t recall the editor of the book. The FDR letter was addressed to the President in 1950 something. As I recall, it involved an officer killed in World War II who had a young son. He requested that the President of that year consider appointing the young man to the US Military Academy in West Point.
Dwight Eisenhower was the President, and he honored FDR’s request.
