You're a hypocrite, anti-corporations ( belong to Antifa or just a sympathizer? ), do NOT know the history of patent medicine, and want the legalization of harmful plants. Oh good grief..........

Not everyone knows chemistry ( hell most people ), couldn't make their own meds if someone'/s life depended on it, and don't understand the meaning of the words "tyranny", "freedom", "private property", nor "freedom"!

Here are a few factual history lessons for ya.....

Once upon a time, all substances that you want made free & legal, were sold for pennies, in drugstores, NOBODY knew just how addictive many of them were.

Ditto for the patent meds, that you sneer at; the makers and hawkers of those things ( some of which latter turned into very profitable, legal, products, which were sold for many decades and turned many an innocent into alcoholics and.or drug addicts; not to mention how many were killed, by using them )were not doing anything illegal, nor were they an more knowledgeable about how to cook up "cures", than the average person, you so want to be able to grow and make meds all on their own today are.

When Laudanum was legal and not expensive at all ! Baby farmers ( which is what women who ran private day and long term baby caring services, out of their own homes...especially in the UK ) used to rub laudanum on baby's gum to quiet them when they were teething ( as did many a nanny, nurse, and plain old mother, back when )and/or just to make them sleep/keep them in a stupor, hence quiet. Many babies were killed that way!

Also, back at the turn of the 19th into the 20th century, high class demimondaines took laudanum in fake suicide attempts, to get their ex-loves/money tickets back. Some died, instead.

Then there's the old, what some have called "kitchen witch" cures, that are also called "old wives' tales", but many of them work, aren't dangerous, don't use dangerous substances, can't do any harm, and they work! I'm all for that; however, it's an "art" that is dying out.

Digitalis is made from the foxglove plant and is used to treat people with heart conditions. Too much taken and even the best made medicine is toxic and yet, you want the average Joe Schmoe to grow and make it to treat someone who, just might be suffering from really bad GERD and/or has a hiatal hernia.

Or do you just want people to make their own opium, heroin, etc. ? *snicker*

HOW CAN YOU BE SO DAMNED STUPID, IS THE BETTER QUERY!

I know all these stories and already said I’m against sales of addictive things. The profit motive is obviously a conflict of interest. Prescription or no prescription the profit is there. Physically addictive meds should be provided to the sick as a civil service on a nonprofit basis.

“Or do you just want people to make their own opium, heroin, etc. ?”

YES. I grow most of my own food and herbs. Why in the hell can I not grow and process my own medicine for myself or sick family/friend without risking a damn bullet in the head from my own government? What if I simply wish to live offgrid without spending money?

WHY is it so accepted to ban ANY plant by barrel of a stormtrooper’s gun? Crazy!!

This is unAmerican Soviet style horseshit to control basic human needs and extract wealth! Wake up!

One thing you are not considering - addiction is more prevalent among long-form DRD4 alleles, the same allele associated with leftist predisposition.

Legalize hard drugs, and you will cull the genetic underpinning of a lot of liberalism in our populations. Those opium dens of old were filled with millions of leftist descendants who were never to be, because their ancestors were too stoned to mate. When we eliminated that, we vastly increased the leftist bullshit later generations had to deal with.

Personally, I don’t like the argument that government should assume people are stupid and irresponsible, and legislate to protect them. I prefer a government that lets everyone do what they want, and punishes oversteps and screw-ups. From your argument, in drugs the problem is not people doing them, so much as us having to pay for the medical and so on. (I’d argue imprisonment would decrease if we legalized.) But even so, then the medical costs should be what you complain about.

Personally though, if we are paying for something that reduces the number of liberals, reduces leftist reproductive rates, keeps them drugged up an unable to riot or whine about stuff, and is freedom-increasing, I think that is a clear win.
