We’ve tried the whole short, victorious war stuff in Iraq and Afghanistan. Both led to thousands of dead soldiers and trillions in expenditures. What makes you think that North Korea would prove to be any different?

For one thing, “nation building” in North Korea should exclusively a South Korean activity. They have a huge economy and a huge military. They should shoulder this 100%.

The US can swoop in and break a bunch of stuff to force NK to surrender (I think they will fold like a cheap suit). But after NK collapses, we should come home.

There will be deaths. But, as others have said, we’re looking at potentially 100 million dead if we wait. So let’s not wait. Any number smaller than 100 million is preferable.

Because South Korean soldiers are totally different from Iraqis and Afghanistan. They will pretty much cover the ground and us will provide air support

No, we fought “politically correct” wars in IRAQ and Afghanistan. What we need to do is fight a REAL war. Kill people, men, women, children, mosques, you name it. The liberals would be outraged, but nobody would ever again mess with the United States.
