Sebastian Gorka is resigning his post as Deputy Assistant to President Trump, multiple sources familiar with the situation have told The Federalist.
In a blunt resignation letter, the national security and counterterrorism expert expressed dissatisfaction with the current state of the Trump administration. [G]iven recent events, it is clear to me that forces that do not support the MAGA promise are for now ascendant within the White House, Gorka wrote. As a result, the best and most effective way I can support you, Mr. President, is from outside the Peoples House.
Gorkas letter expressed unhappiness with the direction the Trump administrations foreign policy has taken, as signaled by the presidents recent speech on Afghanistan:
Regrettably, outside of yourself, the individuals who most embodied and represented the policies that will Make America Great Again, have been internally countered, systematically removed, or undermined in recent months. This was made patently obvious as I read the text of your speech on Afghanistan this week
The fact that those who drafted and approved the speech removed any mention of Radical Islam or radical Islamic terrorism proves that a crucial element of your presidential campaign has been lost
Just as worrying, when discussing our future actions in the region, the speech listed operational objectives without ever defining the strategic victory conditions we are fighting for. This omission should seriously disturb any national security professional, and any American who is unsatisfied with the last 16 years of disastrous policy decisions which have led to thousands of Americans killed and trillions of taxpayer dollars spent in ways that have not brought security or victory.
During his time in the Trump administration, Gorka focused on issues such as countering the Muslim Brotherhood, the crisis in Qatar, drafting a new long-term national security strategy, and combatting Chinas economic warfare. Before coming to the White House, Gorka was an editor for national security affairs for Breitbart News, where he worked with Steve Bannon, who also recently departed the administration.
Gorkas tenure at the White House was marked by unusually vociferous attacks against him and his family by left-leaning media organizations and the Democratic Party. This includes personal attacks against his wife, mother, and son.
A source close to the White House said of his decision, This was more or less going to be a done deal when Bannon submitted his resignation. Not because he didnt have a protector, but because there is no point in having your life ruined every day if youre not going to get much accomplished. The same source said that what did change after Bannon left was that anti-Bannon factions began erecting bureaucratic road blocks to undermine Gorka internally.
The Forward has written dozens of attack pieces against Gorka, including several attempting to align him with Nazism. Most recently that publication retracted a story about his sons schoolwork. Gorka strenuously objected to allegations he had ties to Nazi groups in his familys home country of Hungary, where he had previously been involved in national politics. Even detractors eventually acknowledged the Nazi accusations were unfair smears.
In his letter, Gorka made clear that he believes in the promise of the Trump presidency despite being concerned about its present direction.
Your presidency will prove to be one of the most significant events in modern American politics. November the 8th was the result of decades during which the political and media elites felt that they knew better than the people who elect them into office. They do not, and the MAGA platform allowed their voices to be heard, he wrote, adding, Millions of people believe in, and have chosen, you and your vision of Making America Great Again. They will help eventually rebalance this temporary reality.

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT ???????????
Whatever, it’s just Deep State musical chairs.
Trump’s support is slipping badly among Independents. If his base begins to drift into apathy, it’s all over but the shouting.
I suggest you get your head out of the sand. Former VA attorney general Ken Cuccinelli was on a few minutes ago talking about the Gorka firing.
He said there are no conservatives left in Trumps inner circle, or top advisors.
LOL. Guess you don’t remember the primaries when Cuccinelli was a rabid Never Trumper. You might as well watch CNN if you value his opinion.
EMPTY post...all I have to say are a bunch of expletives.
They got pushed and pushed hard!
What exactly did Mr. Gorka actually do other than appear on cable news once in awhile and say Radical Islamic Terrorism. Perhaps he was the secretary of saying Radical Islamic Terrorism a newly created position in the Trump White House.
I’m disgusted.
This is a win for the Swamp.
Where did you hear that...or are you trying to make me vomit all over my keyboard?
Same. What’s been happening is way beyond disappointing.
Hey, Cuck. Trump was basically called a White Supremacist by Gary Cohn and Cohn STILL HAS A JOB in the administration.
Now help us out here, o’ wise one: Who the **** is running the Trump Administration? Who?
Miller yes, but I don't trust Conway and NEVER have done.
But it gives those who really never supported Trump to begin with a chance to say, "This isn't good" for the 5,000th time.☺
Oh STFU...you don’t know sh*t from shineola; diddums.
Hello...is TRUMP the boss or not??? He alone decides who stays and goes.... all this swamp talk is just BS.
What could possibly go wrong with mustafa javed ali in charge of counterterrorism at NSA
No, not “EVERYONE” went into a “meltdown” over Bannon and that some, probably YOU, never understood what Dr. Gorka “did” is your fault; NOT his! He can’t help it that you and others arfe morons. But then, neither can I. It’s all on you and the others who never managed to “get it”.
So Sebastian Gorka can moan about being isolated and there not being enough Bannon types in the White House, but as far as I can see, the man at the top is still 100% MAGA.
It's Gorka who looks like a whiny loser whose actions only exacerbate the problem he's complaining about. It's as if he is saying "It's too hard! I quit!"
Until there are some kind of pronounced changes in President Trump's domestic policies which don't comport with "make America great again" and "drain the Swamp", I'll refrain from the predictable second-guessing. There appear to be a sufficient number of armchair quarterbacks—on both the Left and Right—playing that role...
His base is NOW slipping; just read this thread.
Don’t you know that it was Super-Bannon and Super-Gorka that alone held back the tide of the deepstate & neo-cons. /s
For all I know they were responsible for much of the leaking and discord in the WH. I’ll wait before I throw my skirt over my head yelling “all is lost”
I have been getting phone calls, emails, and messages from friends and family all over this nation.
