I work at a high tech company with a...well...'diverse' group of young people. All very nice, polite, very intelligent and well spoken.
I was talking with one of them before the election. She is a stunningly beautiful young Black girl...more Mulatto than Black. She's no more than 24 years old...and sharp as a tack....with an Hispanic surname.
I broke my cardinal rule at work to not discuss politics and asked her who she thought would win.
She said, "Oh my, I hope it's not Trump." I asked her why she hoped that. With concern and a straight face she said, "Because I'll have to leave the country. He'll deport me."
I was kind of shocked because I was on the team that had interviewed her when she applied. I asked, "But your are an American citizen, aren't you?"
She said, yes she is but that wouldn't matter to someone like Trump.
Yes...I see your jaw has dropped. Just like mine did. There is nothing you can say in response to that kind of brain-washing. Nothing at all. Especially in a professional work atmosphere.
I just told I was sure that she would be quite alright no matter who won and left it at that.
After the primaries, before the election, I was taking my 17 year old granddaughter and her friend to our boat. The girl is half Hispanic. They were sitting in the back seat talking and I had Rush Limbaugh on the radio so they started talking election. The girl nonchalantly says....if Trump is elected my family will be deported. After my mouth fell open I did have the opportunity to tell her why she was so wrong. She and her family were all born here. Turns out she had heard it from her Dad who is her Hispanic half.

Yesterday I heard a soundbite from a journolist (female) who took issue with the thought that she was not pro-America (or didn’t love America).
8 years of Obamunism doing everything it could to knock down the US standard of living and the history and contributions of this nation etc etc. They don’t love America. Parasites causing decay. Global Communism would’ve succeeded if not for our meddling.
