Yeah, I'm a prig. It drives me crazy when I read the more commonly-used, illogical form -- "I COULD care less." And it makes me even crazier that frequent use has resulted in its being considered an acceptable variant for expressing the same thought...
Oh, I love it -- thanks for posting the link! Been a Weird Al fan since the My Bologna days on Dr. Demento. Have fallen behind a bit in recent years, though, and hadn't heard Word Crimes before now.
Been a word-nerd for most of my life, going back to Edwin Newman's Strictly Speaking. These days, I get occasional grammar fixes from Mignon Fogarty's Grammar Girl podcasts.
