President Trump has signed off on sending an additional 4,000 troops to Afghanistan, ahead of his address to the nation Monday night, Fox News has learned.
Trump is set to unveil his strategy for Afghanistan, becoming the third commander-in-chief to attempt to stabilize the war-torn country and forge a victory in what is now America’s longest war.
The speech is scheduled for 9 p.m. EDT Monday. The president will deliver the nationally televised address to troops stationed at the Army's Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall, located next to Arlington National Cemetery.

That’s why I’m saying let them choose their leaders, then leave. President Trump’s speech seemed very clear about no more nation-building or imposing governments on others.

We spent the 1st decade plus killing people and the last couple years advising and training people. They are bearing the brunt of casualties and have been doing a fairly good job. They are also getting better leadership as the old soviet trained commanders that bought positions, or were given positions because of family relationships are finally getting pushed out and replaced with commanders that are rising up because of their ability.
It is making a difference this summer. They need time.
