So he was Homeland Security Chief under Obama and didn't do anything about the statues. Didn't even utter a word about them. Now they're controversial and have to come down. Is anyone surprised by this?
Also he mentions that we're not advocating them to be taken off the money. That's a tell. That's what's going to happen next.

Well, Jeh, you are partially correct - with many of them being put up by Democrats during the era of Jim Crow (also a Democrat policy) to express just that. Another legacy of the Democrat Party.
