Lerma took two breathalyzer tests in which she blew a .200 and a .187, according to WPEC. The legal blood alcohol level limit in Florida is .08.

I was a deputy prosecutor for many years. The highest test I saw was a guy who blew a .38 on the machine, and was .403 at the hospital on the blood draw. The deputy said he knew he’d test, but was surprised the guy tested that high. Hence, the trip to the hospital to see if it was safe to lock him up. His driving wasn’t that bad, and he was walking and talking in a relatively coherent manner.
The guy was 55 years old, but when I saw him in Court he could have passed for 78. He died about two years later.

a couple decades ago, I worked at our local town’s court/jailhouse/police station as a summer job - cutting grass, maintaining flowerbeds, mopping floors.
A daily job was to swab out the prisoner holding pen after someone was in there. Being a small town, over the months we had a couple robbery suspects, but it was mostly drunk drivers.
This was before computers were widely used for the office, and typed arrest reports would be left out until they were sent over to the courthouse. I could read them - if no one was around.
80-90% of DWI arrests were men, but they were all close to the legal limit - around 0.10 at that time. On the other hand, when women were arrested for DWI, they were always way over the limit. I remember one gal had a 0.35

Saw her on TV a couple days ago. She seemed to be having a bit of trouble walking....

Some people hold their liquor better than others.
When I was a well-rehearsed drinker I was darn close to sober at .2%.
Most grown men with experience can drive safely at .2%.

When in the height of my drinking, I can say that I probably couldn’t have passed a balloon test at ANY given time, day or night.
Never sick, never missed work, never missed paying bills etc.
I did apologize to my two daughters for the fact they probably never saw me completely stone sober while they were growing up.
NEVER knew those years without me having a cigarette fired up or very close to it.
Funny, I was so preoccupied with Camel Regulars & Budweiser and other alcohol that I NEVER went in for (what we knew as) drugs.
One of my favorite sayings to the people who said you couldn’t get drunk on beer.

Even in that advanced state etc, I can honestly say that the woman(??) pictured on this thread would NEVER have gotten a second look from me...<: <:
